Default Servo and Reciever Instillation

Hey guys. I was roaming through my drawer of r/c servos and picked out a Futabu S3305. I have a micro spektrum reciever which I'm using with my KO Propo Helios. While I was trying to place the plug from the servo into the reciever, i noticed it wouldn't fit. The servo plug has a small tab on the outside. Is it safe to cut this off so I can fit it into my reciever? Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a different solution to this problem?

Thanks,
Quinn.

yes, i have cut them off. it works as long as you dont cut too far over into metal..or and i never have but you can release and expose all leads and re insert them, into a plug that does work..id just carefully cut the tab off..

That tab is there to make sure you plug it in with the correct polarity. Now that its gone you can plug it in backwards and possibly fry the servo - the black wire goes to the outside of the rx. Or, the side where the tab used to be goes to the inside.

I cut them off too to use in other rxs, just have to be a little careful to make sure you're getting polarity right. Seen folks get in a hurry, forget what they've done and mess up a good servo.
