Default LRP Spedo help ?

I went and picked up a Lrp Sphere at the local hobby store the other day and not knowing that LRP had several ones I bought the one they had. I was told it was for my application of mod truck. It is model #80500 and it does not have a capacitor and it has a reverse mode. Is this a sport model? I wanted a true race spedo and I am afraid I bought something different. Thanks for the help.

It reads in the link like it is there very first brushless spedo. I keep thinking it is a old shelve unit.

If you don't plan on using anything lower than a 5.5 turn brushless (which you probably wont) it will suit your needs.
You are right that it's not their top model, but I wouldnt assume it has been sitting on a shelf for a long time, to my understanding it is still in production.
The only issue you might face is the fact it doesn't have a fan, but I am pretty sure you could retro fit a fan if needed.

its a great esc, but if you paid full price for it, trade it in. there isn't a lipo cutoff, and it heats up realy fast...

it is an old speedo. actually one of their first if not their first brushless speedos. it was top of the line for it's time. I think that would be like 5 years or so. I purchased one of the first ones available and it has served me well. I still run it in my Speedmerchant Rev5. by the way I usually TQ and finish first at club races every weekend. Also ran the thing at this years iic. it does not have the lipo cut off and does not have the power profile stting the new speedo's have. you may be able to get a 1/10 or 2 with a newer speedo.

Thanks guys. I am probably going to replace it and sell this one. I have already installed it so I can't return it.
