Default Tekin FX...for buggies?

greetings and happy holidaays:smile

i'm starting to like the tekin fx esc. i mean i was looking at the hobbywing 60a brushless speedo but i really wana run brushed for a while becasue the FX has perked my interest in brushed. i really like the hotwire pc card too. it seems really cool. you can program with grater depth and download updates form tekin and view and download other drivers settings on to your esc. and they go for $90.

but is it only for rock crawing? i'm starting to get the idea that it's a crawlers thing...?

The tekin FX is definitely NOT a crawler only speedo. I ran it in my 1/12 scale until I switched to brushless. I'm very particular about speed controls, and the FX was definitely one of my favorites. So much so, that I went with the Tekin RS for brushless.

If I were to run an offroad car or for that matter ANY race class with a brushed motor at this point, I'd only consider two speed controls... the old GM V12, or the Tekin FX.

Try it, I can't imagine it not becoming a favorite...

I really don't know the answer to that, I've only had the hotwire since getting the RS and never felt the need for it with the FX. You do pretty much HAVE to have access to a hotwire to get the full performance of the RS.

The other nice thing about the HotWire is the ability to do firmware updates to the ESC as Tekin releases them. This will allow you to keep your ESC up to date without having to buy a new ESC.

I picked up an FX-R about april, and I don't have a single bad thing to say about it. the adjustable drag brake and push control on it is great to get the car to respond the way you like it to.
