Default Sphere TC - "Blipping" at full throttle

I have a curious problem with my TC Spec..

When I run full throttle with no load, the motor goes full out for a short while before I can hear a "blip" in the motor's speed randomly every few seconds, as if I momentarily let off the trigger. The blue light is solid on at full throttle and never blinks, indicating full throttle position, but the orange light on the speedo blinks quickly every time this happens.

When the speedo is at rest, I can see the blue light randomly flickering once in a while.. I think this is supposedly the LiPo cutoff warning me, but it's a fully charged pack! I've tried both a LiPo and NiMH pack..

I've tried turning off the LiPo cutoff mode and it still blips while running, though just thinking of it now I haven't checked to see if the blue light still blinks while at neutral.. I'll have to check..

I've tried it with both a SP13.5 and 17.5 Duo, and two different sensor cables

Any suggestions?

Is the low voltage cutoff one that you can adjust? If so, it sounds like it is set too low. If not, sounds like ESC is problem. Has lipo been balanced, it could have a cell that is weak and that will cause low voltage cut off to kick in. If NIMH is off even slightly and voltage cut off is set very high it would give you the same results.

Turns out all the wacky light flashing is a result of my radio being held close to the speed control!

I've even disconnected the receiver lead, and it still goes crazy just sitting there and my radio's a foot away. It starts to subside when I'm 4-5 feet away..

My old Sphere Brushed/Brushless works no problem regardless of the radio..

I am using TC Spec, used to run full throttle with motor connected to the car to test out. It's not recommended to test with motor without load. As it will damage the Sintered Rotor according to operating manual.

I used to have I dunno you call it blip of what. What happens is the Orange & Red light take turns blinking for few seconds & motor stopped. After that I can resume throttle & it happens again at full throttle.

This got me annoyed, I post a forum yesterday. Found out the LiPO cut off is the culprit. It was enabled by default. So I have it disabled & the problem solved.

I'd agree with disabling the voltage cutoff first. Radio endpoints is a good suggestion also.

Is the blip consistently occuring at the same place on the track? You may be experiencing interference from a generator, power line or even flourescent lighting. Especially if you run AM radio gear.

I have FM 40 receiver & DSM Pro Spektrum. It's advicable to reconfigure the ESC using the set button for throttle & brakes. Else you won't get the end point as different receiver understand things differently.

But if you are running on LiPO, best to have cut off on. Unless if you can feel the time to stop when the vehicle slows down.
