Default Receiver Location

I am building a Team Academy SBV2 and am wondering where to place my receiver (Spektrum SR3000). With the Lipo battery taking up the complete left side of the car I am sorta stuck with placing the motor, ESC, and receiver all on the right. I remember something about never place the receiver near a brushless ESC because of the glitching it will cause. What I don't remember is if that includes DSM 2.4GHz radios or just AM and/or FM. In the Team Academy picture they show everything (receiver, ESC, and motor) all on one side... but it is a brushed motor. Thank in advance for your help... Have An Excellent Evening !

You could get some noise coming off the motor wires etc. but I've had ESCs and receivers on cars/trucks and helis actually mounted on top of each other and never had a problem. Not that I'm suggesting that. Just keep your other wires isolated from the antenna wire and you'll probably be fine.

I servo taped my reciever to the top brace of my sbv2 and it seemed to work allright. There was some glitching but it turned out to be a bad reciever. As long as you don't run the wires right across the motor it's a pretty solid mounting position. Also make sure the body clears if you decide to mount it there because the body fits pretty tightly over most of the brace.
