is it a electric, or nitro (dont know 2much about savages), if its elec try re-wiring the hole circuit, if its nito that sounds like there may be a linkage problem,

Not saying this is the problem but are you running the optional capacitor for the spektrum?

It sounds like the voltage drops enough to go into failsafe mode then recovers. The cap may help if you have any open ports on the rx. With the Savage are you running the 3rd channel for reverse?

Check all your electrical connections, your shaking them loose whenever you land from the jump and then your transmitter and receiver have to find each other again, that's where your delay comes from.

Start at your receiver pack, check the wiring, check the connector, all the way to the switch, then from the switch to the receiver.

While your at it also make sure you check your servos wires and connectors also.

If your problem persists chances are you have shaken something loose in your receiver, if you have another receiver try using it. This is probably not your problem but I have seen it before, I am betting the problem is either in your battery wire or connector.

If that were the case the jumping would have nothing to do with it, the capacitor is really meant for electrics that run the receiver, servo, and esc all on the same battery. In that setup if the voltage drops to low you lose everything as well that is why they came out with the capacitor for them.

The only reason I thought of it was the 5 second thing. Enough time for an rx pack to recover for whatever reason it dropped. I'm used to running brushless with lipo offroad so it does not affect me. Just a thought if it is a consistent problem.

Anyway, potential fix is cheap at $4.95 + shipping:

I agree totally. Sounds like a bad connection somewhere. I have had similar issues and it usually was a broken/chaffed wire somewhere. Could be in battery pack. Turn your system on/engine off start tugging(don't get carried away) on wires, tapping on switch case, tapping on battery pack, etc. When the system glitches or quits responding you've found it. Hope this helps.
