3PKS question

I just picked up a 3PKS FASST system have a question regarding receiver capacitors. I've been using Spektrum for awhile and have always used the cap plugged into the receiver. Is this necessary/desirable with the 3PKS? If so, any reason I couldn't transfer the one from my Spektrum receiver?

The cap is used to bleed any static electricity that may generate while running on carpet. Not sure if it's necissary with Fasst but can't hurt. You make the call

In Spektrum at least, it's also used to alleviate voltage drops to the receiver. It keeps it from going into failsafe mode under heavy acceleration by keeping the voltage high enough.

Like you said, I don't think it would hurt to use...just don't like hooking up unnecessary equipment.

never used them on my fasst systems and never had a problem yet. I use fasst on my 1/8 scale nitro, 1/10 touring and 1/10 dirt.

I use the FASST system in both 1/12 and touring car. Never had a problem. Try it without and see what happens.

You probably wouldn't see the problem in nitro, only in electric where the motor draw may be so great as to cause a voltage drop to the receiver.

I'll try without for now. I am running 1/10 elec st at the moment and I use lipo/brushless so I shouldn't have excessively large voltage drops.

Thanks for the thoughts.

Kuzo,

A cap isn't necessary. I've run FASST in everything nitro and electric and not had any problems.
