Default what is a transponder

can some one tell me what a transponder does? i know it mounts in side your
car. but what does it do?

It is used to count your laps through the track's lap counting system.

Kenji, he only asked what it does. Besides we don't know if he even wants to race but heard that they are used in RC. In addition to AMB and Allycat there is also I-Lap and Orion systems and I think a few more.

oh yeah, and if your car is ever in an avalanche other people can turn their transponders to "listen" and find your car!!!
