Default Power Supplies

I am looking for a power supply for a Hyperion charger. I am thinking either the Competition Electronics 23A or the Rivergate 30A.

Rivergates are ugly as sin...but they're rock solid. CE's have a nice small footprint comparably. I'm assuming both are peak amps in their stated numbers. Both are fan cooled too I believe.

Can anyone here offer up some advice.

Yes, forget both of those & go to Radio Shack(yes, I said Radio Shack) & try their 25 amp PS. It is EXACTLY the same as the CE one(made by Samlex, I'm pretty sure), & only costs about $99. I have one myself & LOVE it, works beautifully & fits in my box easily....

Anyone use a Ripmax ProPeak? A LHS sells them.

Still thinking a CE or Rivergate.

Yes the Competition Electronics power supply is made by Samlex. I´m using the original Samlex 23amps unit since at least 3 years and it´s really very good.
No reason spending more on a powersupply.

Go the cheap route and get a 600W computer power supply and convert it. You can get them free after mail in rebate.

I've got this one and have no problems with it whatsover. I run 3 PitBull X3s charging at 6 amps each, and a CTX-D2 with it.

Hey Suna

Western Midland Communications in Calgary has this Samlex PS in stock for 165.00. Not the best deal, but they have them.

http://www.samlexamerica.com/product...oductsID=36017

Thanks

Aaron

I second this. I bought the PSV-300 recently and it is a very nice unit.

totally overpriced, a power supply is a power supply, within reason. There are supplies taht are half the price, just get you a vinyl skin for it if you want it to look cool.

You should be able to find a nice supply for $80-$140 depending on what you want

http://www.buyreliant.com/psupplies/psv300.htm

That is a great supply and the best deal going. It will even run my hudy truer. If not something like that then just get a rivergate, I have a 50amp that is 10 years old
