Please recommend 1/8 servos
Hey gang~
What servos do you recommend for 1/8 buggy and 1/8 truggy? I am looking at Futaba 9351 steering and 9451 throttle/brake. These seem to be hard to come by... Wil these work for both buggy and truggy? What else are you having luck with. No one better say a Z270:ha: Thanks! |
Pretty much anything metal geared. Those Futabas will work great.
+100oz./in on throttle +150oz./in on steering A 125oz./in on steering works on buggy also. It may work good-may not work good. I use the Ace 1015 (200oz @ .10) servos all the way around. I've been working them into my 10th scales also. 1/10th gas truck, electric truck & buggy. But you can't go wrong by getting any brand of servo with the specs listed above. There is a lot of servo talk just like this on this board so these are just kind of averages. The main thing to do is set the EPA's correctly and you should have long servo life. |
I run the brushless futaba's BLS451 in both steering and throttle.

Ace R/C 12.5 or 14.5kg

Ace!

Ace 1313 on throttle and steering for a buggy or alternatively 1015 for steering and a must for Truggy.
These are simply the best value for money digital servos !!! |
Steering - Hitec 985
Throttle - Hitec digital 5625 They work great and most people at my local track (silver bowl) also use a 985 for steering but every once in a while they go nuts on a few people and stop working out of the clear blue so I always keep an extra one around :sneaky: |
Hitec's 5955TG.
THE ONLY WAY TO GO!!! you may get sticker shock @ $120 a servo, but they will last you. I have run these servos in throttle and brake in Buggy and Truggy. 333oz/in you can't go wrong here...and they are fast...don't quote me here, but i beleive .15, and as the TG implies in the name...Titanium gears!!! Simply the only servo I will ever buy!! |
If you like ther ACE servos, you will like these.

Ive used the same 2 servos, Futaba s9451 ( steering) and a s9351 ( throttle) in all of my cars for almost a year ( xb8tq, xx4,xxxcr, mf2, cl-1, Savage, 8t) . The only problem I had was a stripped gear in the 9451 as a result of a too tight servo saver on an 8t I got off here. The 9451 had no problem turning the wheels on my Savage ( ext. chassis, Losi 8t wheels) either.
I just picked up a JR 9000s and 9000t to try out. The S is lightning quick. |
Ace all the way!!

Hitec TG5997 and TG5998 have worked great for me for over a year of racing almost every weekend...

Hitec 5955TG or 5995TG. Both 333oz @ .15 & Titanium gears
|
Definitely the HiTec 5955TG. They are great servos, titanium gears, and they are able to be used with a 7V lipo regulator. So basically your 333oz @ .15 becomes 333oz @ somewhere close to .10. They are able to handle any rc application, handle more voltage and I believe they have something like a 3 year warranty. But don't quote me on the warranty thing.
