Need help programming my Hobbywing EZRUN Max10 ESC

So I am trying to get an old RC buggy running again. I have to use an NIMH battery because my battery tray won't hold a LIPO battery. My ESC is an Hobbywing EZRUN Max10 and I have the program card for it. I also have a Hobbywing motor in it as well. So with my NIMH battery when I turn on the ESC it blinks red and it a gives throttle for about 5 seconds and then the ESC shuts off. What settings do I need to change on my ESC with my program card for the NIMH battery to work? Thanks for your time guys!

You need to change te low voltage cut off

Clodfan 04-25-2026 07:33 AM

What setting do I change the low voltage cutoff too?

Roelof 04-25-2026 09:15 AM

Just switch it off

Crap now my program card is just doing 3 lines its not giving me numbers... What do I do?

Did you connect it to the special programming port or did you use the cable that is connected to the receiver?

Here the manual: HW-SMA527DUL-V2_XERUN XR10-Justock G3(Handout Spec)_220407

That's the wrong ESC

The naming of the ink is not of the file behind it, that is a MAX10. I still think it is the issue, using the wrong port to connect to the programmer. Otherwise you can program it w/o a card/box

It's a Max10 G2 which is quite a bit different.

Based on the information given by the OP, I came up with the same manual as Roelof. If it's wrong, be helpful and post a link to the correct one.

And the manual says to turn off LVC if you're running NiMH cells.

It is just a MAX 10 not a G2. I have it hooked up to the ESC and to the program card it just gives me 3 lines.

Looking through their list of manuals, there is this one,,,, https://support.hobbywingdirect.com/...20207098354579 and you may be able to disable the LVC without using a program card by just using the set button at the esc.

As the manual state:

the programming port of this ESC is also the fan port, so you need to unplug the fan first and then plug (one end of) the programming cable in the PRG/FAN port and the other end (of the programming cable) in the ESC port on the LCD program box. Please don’t use the throttle control cable (also called Rx cable) on the ESC to connect the program card/box, otherwise the program card/box won’t function.
If that did not work then just use the pushbutton to go through the menu.

So when I plug in my battery and power on the ESC it turns green for a second and then it stays flashing red. There is no throttle. but the front wheels will turn back and forth. My program card isn't working. How do I fix this? Thanks for your time guys!

Have you calibrated the ESC to your radio?
