Default Charger question...

I've asked several people this question and cannot get an answer. Can I leave my charger leads plugged into my charger and not have to worry about the ends touching as long as the charger isn't charging? For example, I'm charging a battery and it finishes or I stop the charging process, can I just unplug the leads from the battery and leave the cable in the charger?

No problem as long as you don't start the charging process.

If there is no power flowing through the ends, then you can touch them together and not damage anything.
