You already asked the question though less than a month ago. There are forum rules against creating duplicate threads. You've also just broken the rule about circumventing the profanity filter and insulting people.

is this what you do, hang out in forums, try and wind people up and get people banned, there are words for people like you but apparently I’m not allowed to say anything. Also I never once used profanity…

Again, a forum is no Facebook so there are rules to comply. You also could answer with: "OK, sorry, I will do better next time!",

"Karen" would be appropriate.

Okay...here we go again.

1) Kris, as far as I can tell, Roelof was right and you did already have a very similar battery thread to this one. So before starting a new thread in the future, please make sure it's not already been covered, by you or anyone else. Moving forward, 'duplicate' threads will just be removed, and continuing to do so will lead to more moderator intervention.

2) Roelof, your somewhat sarcastic responses don't help in these types of situations. Your original reply of - "Oh wow, another battery topic from you?" was unnecessary, and only got the ball rolling for more bickering, which seems to involve you on a regular basis.

3) As many have said, the site doesn't need rogue 'moderators' policing and sarcastically commenting on a thread that didn't/doesn't/don't really concern them. As always, if any of you see a problem with a post or thread, there is no need to reply to it in any way. Just report it, and share your thoughts/reasons with the mods and let us handle the situation IF it needs to be addressed.

4) We do appreciate those of you that take the time to report threads/posts that need to be reported.

5) Any more bickering on this thread by anyone will get you a week off to think about. As I always say...RC is supposed to be fun, and coming here is supposed to be enjoyable and a place to take a break from the realities and drama of real life for a bit. Let's keep it that way.

Thanks.

I've been using a combination of cnhl, and smc batteries for my faster vehicles.

Hobby king sells cheap Turnigy lipo's that were a bit on the heavy side, but gave great performance.
I was very competitive with them, and after 4 years they still work.

Now using Orca and Sunpadow lipo's, just because they're lighter.

I'm reviving a month old thread just to say I had no idea it would be so entertaining when I clicked on it after using the F'ing search button.

Try Ovonic. They are cheaper than Zee and in several online tests they come out much better. Last for my upcoming races I have bought 2 Ovonic shorties for just 26 euro a piece.

OK, I got my 1st race with these batteries. Not really presentable with only 3 drivers but 1 of them became last year European champion with the Fronti cars and the other guy is just an experienced electric racer. To be honest, I am no toplevel guy but for sure also no backmarker. For me this was a new type of car on old used tires I got from a friend using not the best tire sauce (LRP carpet I had from 10 years ago)
We are running with the ETS rules so the HW 17.5 turn G2.1 motor and the Juststock G2 (I have) and G3 esc's with the 17.500 RPM limiter activated running an minimum FDR of 4.0. There were 2 qualification heats and 3 finals. It was late on the evening and there was a lot of damp in the air witch caused also some wet spots on the curbs with which I made some mistakes probably because the older tires and not the right tire sauce but it was a fun drive. I was not expecting to fight the EU champion but I had some fun with the other guy.
In short words, the cheap Ovonic batteries did not let me down. Next time I do have new tires and the right and fresh grip sauce and also a better experience of how to drive these cars.

The last final with the best fun moments:

I did not measure the IR yet, that will be next time but in between the heats I did discharge them with 35A to condition them (the 1st real time they were used) and they do get hand warm, on the other hand a 7 minute drive just used about 1300mAh making an average of 12A, not shocking high. At the end with my (homemade) discharger I did discharge them with 35A to 3.7v, after finishing they did rise to 3.8v a cell and stored them for the next time.
