New ESC for stock and mod
#1
I’m in the market for a new esc to be used in stock and mod. My go to brand (Pro Performance)is currently sold out and need one very soon. I seen some new ones hit the market and was going to try out the Fantom 2.0 until I discovered that it isn’t ROAR approved (Bummer)
Looking for opinions on anything else other than HW

Dude Fantom is hurting. Want proof just look at their Facebook posts from the past year or so. Nothing but sale after sale and pushing fake quantity urgency. Not to mention that every post has the Affirm thing. I hate to say it but looking like another one is about ready to bite the dust.

I really like the new Hobbywing XR10 G3 ESCs. How come you don't like HW just curious...... Ive used a lot of ESCs personally I like HW however my second choice would be Maclan. The Maclan is super smooth on throttle and brakes. Maclan has a very nice bluetooth programmer as well. Stock on Maclan products is usually very good and readily available.

I like my Fantom ESCs. Its fast to connect to my phone and has lots of tuning parameters. My mod cars are smooth and easy to drive and my stock car has tons of punch. Im sure they'll be roar approved soon, no idea what the hangup is.

I’ve had good experiences with ORCA, they’re a little difficult to find though. They do have the orcausa site. The new OE1 mark 2 is very small for a mod ESC, has an internal cap and can be used with a wireless programmer.

They just spent a year developing the stock motor, and the Helix v2 is the result so far. If the ESC says Road pending then it was submitted for approval and its on roar at that point. Fantom constantly sells out, the sales are just for holidays and racer appreciation. Affirm is everywhere, Amain pushes it hard as do LHS's and out side of the RC industry too.

Thats the problem, nowhere does it say Roar Pending on their website for the esc. Also I know that they owe a particular battery manufacturer a LOT of money and the manufacturer wants to hold them accountable with a lawsuit but unfortunately having a tough time doing so bc international lawsuits are a very rare occurrence

It literally says right on the ESC page that its pending approval. I looked it up before my last post. If what you say about them owing money is true, thats unfortunate. But as easily as the roar thing is disproved and yet you're so confident in that I have my doubts. Maybe they didn't pay for product that didnt meet specs and some one is mad about it. Or whatever. I wont speculate. But considering their on track record vs someone like Trinity that repeadedly for decades gets caught cheating yet is still around, whos counting really.
