Iso-propyl alcohol or Ethanol in a spray bottle is all you need. Buy it from a bulk supplier, not a hardware store and it will be much cheaper (at least in Australia it is).

CRC Electrical cleaner from harbor freight works wonderfully.
I recall back in the day, we just used the chlorinated brake cleaner on the brushed motors with the caveat to lube the bearings afterwards. That of course also got rid of stickers and everything else that was remotely plastic/oil based.
