Default Starting from scratch after 15 years.

Hey all! I haven't been into the hobby since around 2007-2008. I am jumping head first into it again and just purchased a Capricorn Lab C804SL on road nitro car. The newest stuff I still have is a Futaba 3PK transmitter and R603FS receiver that are in my O'Donnell Z01T truggy and a Hyperion EOS0615i battery charger LOL Yes, it's been that long! I'm looking at getting the Futaba 10PX transmitter with the R404SBS receiver, some Reds servos, and a Hudy starter box. I'm looking for advise on batteries and chargers for the TX, RX, and starter box. I'd like to keep everything one brand and tend to shy away from mass produced stuff like Protech.

Honestly, If your Hyperion still works, I would just continue to use it, unless you are using LiFe batteries.

If you are looking for an inexpensive cheap charger that can do it all, the SkyRC B6 Neo is a capable and powerful little charger that can charge anything you need, there are tones of other brands to choose from, ISDT, ToolkitRC, iCharger etc etc. Really depends what are your needs (built in AC adapter? portable? high amps? nimh capable?)

What's wrong with Protek? They have some very fine servos.

As far as batts, I have read some good things about Zeee batteries. I decided to try them out and bought a couple of these.

I can't help much with the charger. I am partial to iCharger myself.

The racer's edge Q world starter box is modelled after the ofna truggy starter which I always thought was the best.

PS - Protek's batteries are pretty fine too as are their tool cases and their diff and shock oil cases.
Devilbrad and gigaplex like this.
