So measure mAh used or voltage instead of throttle time?

First of all, you can crawl basically infinitely on a battery charge so that should probably be the last thing of concern when you’re on the trails. Secondly, just look at the voltage, it will be a better indicator than the timer anyway. It’s right on the huge Sanwa screen for you to see. It doesn’t care how many times you’ve started or stopped or creeped or crawled or jabbed full throttle while you’re upside down.

Your timer function can still be used to collect data. Once you’ve collected a lot of data, you can look at it to figure out how long your longest sessions were when you’re watching friends, or how short your solo aggressive missions are, and no matter what happened during the session all you have to do is monitor battery voltage. Your fastest packs could be in the 30-40 minute range and the longest packs in the 60-80 minute range.

Gesture-Based RC Control using MT12 + IMU

The use of the Nano BLE Sense Rev 2, as the head-tracker's wireless receiver in the hand controller, has as unintended and interesting side benefit - being able to use gestures to operate the models with. In my testing/experimenting, I configured it such that tilting the controller fore and aft is throttle and leaning it left and right is steering. Should work well not only for terrestrial stuff, but also watercraft. Ima have to try this the next time I get the boat wet. For the attitude reset input on the Sense, I ended up researching and finding that the joystick that ships with the MT12 indeed has a center button that Radio Master didn't bring out to the header. I validated that it is indeed a switched ground that comes out of pin 3 on the joystick subassembly provided with the radio and then ran a wire from there to the Sense up top and all I have to do to reset attitude, should I have a need to do so, is to press down on the joystick and viola', all is right in the world, as the angels sing to me that Bob is my uncle. It reminds me of using the DJI motion controller that I fly my Avata with. Pretty stoked as this opens things up for more tweaking and mucking around in pursuit of discovery.

I recently bought an MT12 ELRS and I'm trying to set up the buttons and switches. I see how to set steering end points individually, but I want to assign dual rate to one of the switches or to T5. I sometimes need to adjust the dual rate during the race. I know that I am being lazy by asking here, but I hope that someone will share their knowledge with me so that I can be lazy.
Thanks!

Please refer to this video from around 10:47. He has assigned the steering weight (D/R) to T3, but you just need to change it to T5.

I was doing ok until I got to the party about Special Function (page 9/11). His screen was mostly blank and mine looks like this . I scrolled to the first line past L05, but when I held down the scroll wheel, it didn't do anything.

Hi all. I bought an ER3C-i receiver on AliExpress (first time, no stock in Australia - amazingly seems like it's going to beat the Aus supplier by ~2weeks).

I wasn't paying attention to whether it was LBT or FCC, and I bought LBT by mistake when I'm in an FCC region.

Could somebody help me with the steps needed to flash to FCC? Radiomaster have said it's entirely doable but haven't provided any guidance - I'm still very new to EdgeTX/RM stuff.

Those are all the default LED settings for doing the police like strobe on the handle. Just clear and delete all of those (unless you want them).

Go to the Express LRS website and download the configurator program. Or you can use the web flasher but the configurator is what I use currently. Then read the section in the documentation "Receivers -> Typical Updating Steps" I've linked it below as well. During the config setup in the configurator you select the region. Just choose the non EU region if you're in FCC

MT12 nightmare

So far, this has been the most frustrating RC experience I’ve had in over 20 years. I’ve just purchased the MT12 system and I’m having a few problems. First, there seems to be no steering input. Nothing happens during calibration, but the throttle input seems to work just fine. I confirmed the same while trying to play the included game. No steering…

Second, while attempting to bind the tx to the rx, it appears to bind, but the transmitter says “telemetry lost. Telemetry recovered. Telemetry lost. Telemetry recovered” and it doesn’t operate. Any tips before I return it?

I've had that telemetry message on and off if I have the transmitter too close to the receiver.

I've had the same issue, but I think it's dealt with via reducing Tx output power to something like 100mW. also saw a solution that IIRC, is to turn on dynamic power, which uses SNR telemetry to adjust Tx power automatically. I guess it'd be super low, less than 10mW if the vehicle is just on the table in front of you.

My learning curve is starting to reduce now, its been a couple of months, but building a second vehicle (a stadium truck) has given me a reason to go through the setup again. This time I flashed an LBT receiver using WiFi to run FCC(ISM) firmware and no dramas, was pleasantly surprised.

Want to see how this modelmatch setting works now and I need to get to grips with the inputs/outputs and how steering setup really works.

Does anybody know about modelmatch? Does anybody know if control wheels are universal? Was thinking about bling before RM inevitably release upgrades themselves.

I use model match on my setup. What questions do you have?

Here's a good video as well:

Just a general understanding is a good start for me! I think it's a 'poka yoke' system - it's impossible to forget to change the model over on the radio, i.e. if I turn the Tx on, and then turn on the buggy, it'll switch to the buggy profile. If I turn the buggy off, and power up the truck, the Tx will see the different receiver and switch the profile to truck - is that right?
