Default Baattery charging error.

I have the C240 Duo charger. I just got a new LIPO battery 1800mah, 7.4 volt. When I try to charge it at 1.8 amps 7.4v the charger checks the battery and displays "Battery disconnect". The charge mode is "Balanced"

I Googled it but cannot find an answer. I tried charging it 3 times.

Does anyone know what it means?

Thanks,

J.R.

Do you have the balance lead plugged into the charger? If you charge in balance mode, you have to have the balance wires connected to the charger.

Yes, it is plugged in. However, the lead is a different type than my other four batteries. It is smaller. It fits in the first location.

Could the battery be bad?

I also tried charging it in just the "charge" mode, and not balanced. Same results.

Thanks for helping.

Hard to tell without a picture. Battery could be bad, but just as likely is that since it's a different type of balancing than on your other stuff, you might not plug it in correctly somehow (yes, even if it seems to fit).

I would start swapping out one connector at a time until you locate the source of the bad connector and replace it with a fresh connector.

I once had a bad internal connection inside the battery and had to re-solder the internal tab to fix the battery:

Your charger shows "Lithium". Do you have the "Lipo" option? Don't know if that'll make a difference but worth a shot.

Are you able to charge it without connecting the balance lead?

With the lead connected, it charges for 3 seconds. Without the lead it gets the Battery disconnect immediately.

Do you have another battery to try and see if the results change?

Anytime I had that error it usually is a loose connection somewhere.
If it's not the main lead that has a bad connection, then I'd start doing a continuity test on each of the balance lead wires.

Both balancing board and Battery connected(XT6.0 or XT90, Battery lead + and - ) to charger.
