ICharger Duo 458

Is anyone using one yet and what are your thoughts so far?

Interesting, I still have and use my 4010; but this would be a nice addition.

I finally have them in stock and been using one for 2 weeks. Screen is better on it. It is a little heavier as I think the heatsink internally is larger. Function wise it seems to work the same except IR is now read instantaneous when you start charging or discharging.

Thank you for the info on them EA. I’ve been using the S6 and think the 458 would be a good move.

S6 is a great charge I just find the rocker type switch a pain to use versus the button style. You will enjoy the 458 for sure!

I got one and still setting it up. I'm coming from a Powerlab 8 and enjoying the compact footprint. Though its been a challenge to find the right charge cables but that's just me not with the times

I came on here to see if anyone would know what kind of adapter I need to charge my protek 2100 life TX pack?

I love mine. Works great. I charge lots of my batteries at 45amps no problem and can discharge my 2s at 45 amps with a resistor bank. You definitely going to want to run this with a powerful 24volt power supply. 12 volt power supply will be super limiting in terms of charging power.

I HOPE you are not charging your batteries at 45 amps with alligator clips

the alligator clips are to charge my 12 volt lead acid automotive car batteries at 45 amps. Works great for that. I also use it to charge and balance my 18650 and 21700 batteries in my power tools. Most of my rc 2s lipos are on 5mm bullets and my 4s and 6s rc lipos all use xt90.

That's insane. Alligator clips that size are usually only rated for up to 10A.

Yep. I've melted the plastic insulators charging at 25 amps with them. 45 amps is asking for trouble.

I have larger alligator clips with 8 gauge wire when I charge my lead acid batteries at 45amps.

That's not what you had in your photo, and why are you charging lead acid batteries at such a high current? It's bad for them.

I have the 458 Duo and just getting back into RC I thought I would ask for some advice.

What are the recommended charge and discharge rates for the following LiPos:

6000mah Reedy Zapper 2S
6100mah LRP graphite 2S
4250mah 4250 3S.
