the old school safe rule is charge at 1c/1hour charge rate. So a 6000mah battery would charge at 6 amps. but realistically most modern lipos can charge safely at much faster rates. Like 3-5c+. If you ever go to a high competition 1/10 rc track most of all the fast guys charge and discharge at 40+amps. I personal charge all my batteries at 20-45amps

I set my discharge limit to 25 amps since that's the wire soldered to my string of light bulbs.

Usually it'll be enough to warm up 2s and 1s lipos. Obviously 1s will get more amps during discharge. 4s won't get warmed up much. I generally charge at 20a.

I have the 456 model that I mainly use to charge 2 cells Lipo, may I ask whats the advantage of using 24V power supply over normal 12V?

The input has a current limit on it, so using a higher voltage allows you to reach the higher power levels. Probably not worthwhile for only using 2S.

for 2s lipo there is no advantage. Most 12 volt power supply’s have enough power for you to charge two 2s lipo at the max rate of 45 amps but 12 volt is not enough to charge 4s or 6s lipo’s at 45 amps, lets alone two 4s or 6s lipo’s at the same time.

this charger has an input limit of 50amps per 1 channels or 70amps combined for both channels. So 12 volts x 50 amps =600 watts of available power for you to use to charge your battery. With 600 watts I can only charge my 6s battery at about 23amps. But if I use a 24volt power supply like I have in my pictures now I have 1200watts of power so I can now charge my 6s lipo at the max charge rate of 45amps

some 12 volt power supplies advertise some thing like 12 volts at 85 amps and 1020watts. You will never get close to 1000watts because the problem is the volts are too low. You can’t use that many input amps you need the volts to be higher.

Looking around for XT90 balance boards. Can't find one to charge my 2S Rx packs for 8th scale buggy. None have the servo input lead on them all. Seems they are all just XT, EC3/5, Deans and a weird red 2 pin that wont fit my Rx pack servo lead.

New to this model currently have a 410D. I've never used XT connectors before as outputs.

Can anyone link me?

Balance boards generally don't have the main power connector on them, they just have the JST balance leads.

Just get an adapter to change the JST connector to the servo connector

I think you might have misunderstood or I might have mistyped what I'm looking for.

My balance boards/cables from my 410 duo do not fit this new chargers balance port. I'm needing somebody to link me to the correct balance, port cable and balance board.

I was able to cut the ends off my charging dongles that had banana plugs and I soldered the XT90s on so I'm good there. It's just the balance, port cable and board that I'm needing.

It helps if you explain it a bit (a lot more) better what exactly te problem is.

There are 2 common types of balance connectors, today the JST XH is the most used. Then there are cables 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 pole, most chargers today can handle lower pole connectors on their balance port.

If I understand this right, the balance cable for your previous 4010 is probably made for balancing up to 10S and is therefore wider than the port of the 458, which only supports up to 8S. I haven't checked, but i guess it's still the same type of connector, just the smaller version. Nothing to do with XT90 or such at all. And usually you use a charging lead that converts the standard balancing connectors to a servo style connector on the battery, I've never had a balance board that included this, so pretty normal, unless you forgot to tell us everything we need.

Welp, that's a dead lead-acid battery.

That was my bad on my explanation. I'm just needing the cable/board that goes into the balance port of the new charger. Could you share a link of what cable it uses.
