Default 10BL120 Cap Necessary?

I bought a HW 10BL120 ESC used and it had a cap pack soldered into the battery wires, but the cap pack ripped off during a recent run. I don't know if it comes from the factory with a cap pack (not shown in online pics).

Wondering if I need to replace it. Is the wired cap pack necessary for casual driving? (Not racing the car.)

Thanks.

The cap is there to help protect your ECS from the ripple effect.

I've noticed my 10bl120 browns out quite easily. If you've lost the cap pack, I'd recommend replacing it with a better one. But some servos and receivers are more power hungry than others.
