Default Powering Starter Box using Portable Jumper

Can I use a Deans to alligator adapter and connect the little alligators to the big ones of a portable charger to power my starter box?
Could I use a spare car battery in a similar manner? Both are 12v I believe.
I plan on eventually getting a Lipo but i'm a bit impatient and want to play with my toy already haha.

Thanks!

Yes to using a spare car battery to run the starter box. Might be easier and safer to use some removable terminal clamps wired to a deans plug rather than clipping alligator leads to another set. Be aware that the battery will put out a lot of current and you don't want to have them touch especially with you in between the connections, or sparking near nitro fuel.

The portable jump starter it depends on how it works, but should also be possible.

Deans ok. EC5 and XT90 as good. Alligator clips Use larger clips as shown. I've been using larger clips 12ga wire, with 30amp fuse since '

95, on my Serpent Power Box. Only replaced motor 2X. You can find parts on Amazon.
