Receiver port connection

I used a crimping tool for the first time and it took a while to finally get it but I was connecting my red and black wire to the connector to plug into my receiver. I used a 2 wire connector even though receiver is a 3 but I only have two wires. The connector doesn’t secure it just sits in but bumps cause it to disconnect. Any help would be great. I’m new to all this connector and wiring. I went from wiring 9v batteries to my receiver. If powers my lights and sirens just fine until the plug comes out. I would really like to figure out how to secure the plug. The wiring that came is extremely thin.

you need to change to the male connector. female pin/male connector.

What do you mean. Isn’t make what it plugs into? It needs to plug into the receiver

steelrfan85 12-06-2020 10:54 AM

So do I need to disconnect the wires and cut them use a different pin?

The pin needs to be the female end to plug into the male end in the receiver. Can't really see what type of connector you're using.

Goto HansenHobby.com. Order female and male connectors. Then order plugss for Futaba or Sanwa, and sleeves for female plugs. They'll fit together better then you have it now. You'll get them USPS in 5 days to a week.

That connector should work - it's common to use those on fans. I would pull one of the wires from the connector plug and see how it fits in your receiver - they are made to be a friction fit. Take a look at that female connector and see what it uses to create that friction fit, it may be a small bent tab that needs adjusting.
Not sure where you got your parts, I order from Hansen Hobbies and have never seen this problem - and I have built a lot of connectors for RC cars and airplanes

should I buy the JST extension like previously suggested?

I would not - I don't think a JST connector will plug into a receiver.

If you want to go pre-fab, buy a servo lead like this https://www.amainhobbies.com/tq-wire...qw2219/p238388

or a servo extension like this and cut the female plug side off. https://www.amainhobbies.com/tq-wire-tripple-black-jr-futaba-servo-extension-225mm-tqw2225/p23838

Honestly, it's not really hard to build up a servo connector like this - not sure if you have the wrong parts or what is going on. I suggest you go to Hansen Hobbies web site, on the home page scroll down to the bottom and watch the video on how to crimp servo wires.
