Nomadio Sensor, radio board error.
#1
Hello everyone.
After many years away from radio control and due to the confinement by # Covid_19 I have removed old junk from the warehouse.
I have dusted off my old radios, an Airtrónics M8 and a Nomadio Sensor to play VRC-PRO www.wrcworld.com
To be able to use them for a long time I used a 5V power supply for the Nomadio and another 12V power supply for the Airtronics.
By my mistake I connected the 12V power supply to the Nomadio and it broke. Don't power ON
Yesterday I tried to repair it and found a diode that was burned out. I bypassed it and the Nomadio came back ON.
I was very happy to have it repaired, but when I tried to connect it to the PC in order to play VRC I was unable to pair it with the transceiver. Before the mistake I played perfectly and the transmitter/transceiver are perfectly paired. I tried to rebind in the transmitter and push the bind button in the transceiver but don't pairs-

Arrows color
Pink: USB comunication port
Orange: frontal buttons board
Green: main board.
Red: radio board
Yellow: trims and programables buttons (2 sides)

the radio boards from another angle

Mainboard

power and data connector, in red circle positive pole and the burned diode.
As I bypassed the diode and as protection I installed a DC-DC step down regulator as showed in the image

With it I can regulate the output voltage, 5,5V for example, and the input voltage is indifferent. In this way, I can power the Nomadio whith a power supply from 5V to 48V or a 1S, 2S,3S…10S LiPo battery and the output voltaje always is regulated to 5,5V
I think that the overcurrent have afected to the radio board, but I have no idea how to repair it.
If somebody have a Nomadio broken, I would also be interested.
I need the radio board, it doesn't matter if the screen doesn't work or it has broken steering wheel or throttle.
Thanks.
Excuse me for my bad english.
Edit: please, I see I have duplicated the post but I can access to the other, a moderator can delete the other?

Hi, I purchased this radio used a few days ago & it worked fine till last night. I put a batter in the vehicle I purchased it with then turned the radio on. It powered on & to my surprise, it said “Sensor by Nomadio” which it hadn’t done b4. I then powered on the car & it said something else & I missed what it said as I had music going, I turned the radio off then back on again, but it did not power on this time & has not powered on since. I took it apart & looked at the diode that you had shown the burnt out in yours & it looks fine. I didn’t see anything else that could have been burned out. I put fresh AA in it & tried again to no avail. Any thought on what it could be? What I missed. Kinda pissed off as I used this thing twice & it’s already dead.
