Default Hobbywing Customer Service

Buyer beware. Hobbywing North America does not honor warranty of their defective Chinese trash. I purchase a new 160 amp G2 that is suppose to have reverse polarity protection and new out of the package would not calibrate to transmitter due to defective on/off switch. HW decided not to honor warranty due to the seller NitroHouse Hobbies selling item $10 below map pricing. (not sure how that is my responsibility) Offer to sell me one to replace their defective Chinese junk for $99 plus shipping...…………….No thanks I will give someone else $200 not to ever buy another piece of their trash ever again. Wish I had the $1000 back I wasted on their trash over the last couple of years.

Any suggestions for a good mod TC speedcontrol that stands behind their products.

I don't see how your purchase price has anything to do with anything.
Tekin, the best customer service since Novak...

Agreed, that is why they will never get any of my business ever again. Might have to give Tekin a try.

I'm just going to say that stinks! I would be so ticked off. I wonder if it states in their warranty that if you buy the product for less than map it voids the warranty. I would contact the Ebay store and show them the email from Hobbywing. As to other manufactures. I have used, and still use Tekin. Their products are good, and they do have a presence here. But, I am also looking to switch, possibly to R1. I can say, if you have ios for your phone, you may want to look somewhere besides Tekin. If you have an android, you are fine.

The new R1 speedo has been great. Kemp and I are both running them in stock/super stock classes and he is doing some Mod testing with one this weekend. Went away from Tekin's due to cost and completely happy so far.

Totally stinks. I just looked and NitroHouse Hobbies listings due state they have a return policy. Have you reached out to them? eBay? PayPal buyers protection?

Nitro House Return policy

After receiving the item, contact seller within Refund will be given as Return shipping 30 days Money back or replacement (buyer's choice) Seller pays for return shipping

Now, I due believe HobbyWing should honor the warranty as they can make exceptions, but I also looked and one of their last bullet points does state:

Product(s) purchased from non-authorized dealer See the authorized dealer list in North America. Purchasing from Hong Kong retailers and eBay sellers who do not follow HOBBYWING MAP policy deem item non-warranty.
Again, they can make an exception, but they are choosing not too. This does suck no matter what and I would feel the same way...I bet there is a way to recoup your money/get it replaced, and then if you don't want it, at least sell it. Sorry man, totally sucks.

Don't know what the laws are in the USA. In the UK if you buy a product and it's defective, your return it to the store, not the manufacturer. Your relationship/contract is with the store, not the manufacturer.

So take their advice and return it to the store.

If they refuse to offer a refund or exchange, you have support from your credit card company or PayPal.

Hobbywing make the best electronics available, so my advice is to buy another one once the refund is sorted. You won't find anything better.

Which esc are you using? I'm hoping the super stock works for stock racing. How about the phone app, and what os do you use?

All warranty items are handled through the manufacture. Not the retailer. Ive had to deal with this before through my store. And hobbywing was the same company I had issues with.

We are using the stock one and have the mod one in a car. Can tell zero difference in stock or super stock with them. The app is great. Much much better than the hobbywing app that rarely works for me. I use an iphone.

My next stop is with Paypal protection. I emailed Nitrohouse with Hobbywing response to see what they would do. So far both are pointing finger at each other and doing nothing so I will wait a day and contact paypal with both of their responses.

Yeah in that case they should honor the warranty and take appropriate action with nitro house. Either way ebay is super easy to work with as a buyer when there is a problem.
