Default Mt-44 BRICK!!?? Not at all a troubling corruption of firmware

So check this out. I’m out at the 510 Raceway for some good racing fun. I show up the night prior to the Saturday races for some practice....cause god knows I need it.. everything is working as it should. When I say everything I mean the radio and Servos as well as a Maclan Pro and a Orion HMX.
i leave the track for some shut eye and return the next day. At this time neither of my ESCs are responding to appropriately to the Radio. I, being a tried and true since the m8 Sanwa fan, automatically assume that my ESCs are acting up.... Well Esc as I was racing the Maclan and had no idea at the start of this that I would be having an issue with it too.... So I get out my android device and link up to my HMX and go to re calibrate. I notice that the esc does give the visual indication with the lights as I go through the process. I hit done and immediately the esc displays a solid green light indicating full throttle.... however there is no power go to the motor. The light does go out when I hit the brake but again no response at the motor. I update the firmware and try again with the same response.
ok, somebody is goofing and has changed something in my radio...... I clear the model and repeat..... same response.
at this time I mumble some angry words because that was a 400$ esc that’s now a brick and pull out my Maclan because I’m going to have to run that instead.
WAIT! WTF no response from that either. Huh... well at least the calibration is so involved I’ll recalibrate and off I go...... NO SIR. The Maclan just blinks blue and red about once a second. With no response to calibration. The only think the Maclan will do is run at about 25% power after binding the radio and receiver. Once the attempt is made to calibrate it bricks.
so now I’m focused on the radio but can’t find anything out of sorts with it. I have attempted to do a firmware update on the radio and while I’m super not a computer guy I do believe that I have it saved appropriately to the SD card. However when I try to update on the radio the black down arrow flashes and nothing occurs. I believe that I may not be able to jump from the current v.03 to v.18 ... idk.

i have reached out to all 3 manufacturers with hopes of resolution. If I can’t solve it I plan to send the equipment in for diagnostic and repair.

i think it’s important to note that I was able to eliminate a receiver issue as I had another receiver at home that gives the same result.

any and all help is welcom

Try reversing the throttle channel on the radio and recalibrating.

as a situation report:

As it turns out my radio and receivers are just fine. Oddly enough both my speedos ended up going corrupt simultaneously.

i did attempt to do a firmware update on the Orion while at the track that did not take as I found today through talking to tech support that the speed control really works much better with a pc interface and such is how this problem was solved. Also. The HMX app is required to calibrate. It’s instructions say “press backwards, release and hit next”. I have s feeling that the verbiage here is wrong as the computer wishes for you to press hold and click calibrate. HMX solved

The Maclan update was not attempted at the track as it seemingly failed with the HMX I saw no point in waistinv the time. the calibration process is more hands on and wasn’t working along with the error code being that it wasn’t receiving signal from the radio. So After several attempts to update firmware today... it took and away it went.

MT-44 Brick!!?? Not at all .... a very trouble Bermuda Triangle like failure of my power plants... very true.
uDi_MP7.5 and mushroomed like this.
