Follow-up as a DasMikro user.
For some reason, throttle doesn't respond when first powered on.

I have to give it some input, wait 2 seconds, and then it's fine for the rest of the run.
Not a deal breaker, but wonky behaviour.

Did you try recalibrating your ESC Xtracrispy?

Xtracrispy 08-06-2021 02:02 AM

that's a good thought, and likely the reason for the delay.
I did in fact try to recalibrate my esc (same behaviour on 2 cars with same model esc), but they actually wouldn't calibrate unless I give it some throttle trim.
My best guess is that the neutral point is in a whacky timing that my esc simply doesn't like.

had the same with a justock esc, nothing to do with the receiver ... Replaced esc and all good.

Are the DasMikro units just as fast as a RX 481?

gigaplex 08-16-2021 05:48 PM

Are any of the compatible receivers waterproof?

Sanwa- compatible receiver

I’m just curious, does the telemetry works ?

Update, issue was resolved by giving the system some subtrim to shift the neutral point, and re-calibrating the ESC.
This solved the problem for me, and there's no more blipping needed to start the car. Still don't know if it's receiver PWM or ESC related, but the workaround is simple enough.

Nobody knows. People will tell you they are, but unless they measure it, they are just going by feel.

Agreed. Some top level UK drivers definitely use these. They don't need to. But do.

I suspect there isn't much in it.

I've been using the ARX versions on astro off-road, zero issues. I'd say they are the same speed, might even be the same manufacture just at half the margin.

It's good to know that there are zero issues, that's important. But speed? Nobody really knows unless someone measures it. I'd be surprised if they are slower, but again nobody knows for sure. And same manufacturer? Maybe, maybe not. Could just be someone reverse engineered it and are making it. Reminds me of a big golf club manufacturer here in the States. A few years ago they decided to travel to Taiwan to see if they could get their iron heads cast for less cost. They took their club heads to a casting house in Taiwan and asked if they could cast them. They went into the factory and came out with the exact same club head they had already copied and were casting them. :sneaky:

I 'm having problem with the servo and ESC connectors with the 482. I got it for my mini-B with a reef's 99 micro servo and a Hobbywing ESC

Connector's don't fit in to the receiver

mushroomed 01-12-2022 10:35 PM

Do the connectors have a tab on them? You may need to cut this off with a razor or change the plug.
