Default Motor Timing

I have a Reedy M3 5.0 and want to know what timing I should set the motor to.

That depends on so many factors. Type of vehicle, track, ESC settings, gearing etc.

I would contact the manufacturer and give them a description of your car and ask what current draw to set the timing.

I like to run Trinity motors and they recommend 5.6A draw for 13.5T 4WD Buggy, which doesn't typically work out to the same timing between different motors, plus what you set on the end bell almost never matches up with the actual measured timing with a motor analyzer. It's also generally a good idea to periodically check the current draw with a motor analyzer because the end bell can be bumped out of alignment, and/or require slight adjustment to the timing to reflect the proper draw as the magnet strength fades over time. This is the main reason why timing is different between motors because no 2 magnets are identical in strength. Anyway, with my Trinity motors, I've seen timing settings range from 45°-50° all at the same 5.6A draw.
