Default Graupner Gr-8 receiver problems

Bought a new Graupner X-8e radio system. The Gr-8 receiver seems to be dead. There is no LED indicator. I have contacted graupner USA tech service, but that was late last night. Has anyone else had a problem with these receivers?

I am starting to regret this purchase, I knew going into it that Graupner didn't have the best manuals, but that is a bit of an understatement. Besides the receiver problem, looking into how to bind/update the radios and receivers, it seems you have to be a bit of a voodoo master to get things to work just right, doesn't seem to be one set way to do it, and nothing jives with the manual.

I also bought the Genius Pro 90r+t v2 to go with it so I will be all telemetry-ized because I do like data and I like the fact that I can adjust the esc from the radio. I am not having a happy feeling about the whole system though

If someone could chime in and tell me some good things about this system that would be great, because as of this morning I feel like I should have went with my gut and gone Sanwa.....

I have the older X-8N system with a bunch of GR-4 RX's, with that system, you have to toggle between HOTT and HOTTv2 depending on the type of Rx you are using... I don't know what the default setting is on the X-8E but I suspect this might be your issue. There is also a firmware update that is highly recommended by a couple other drivers in my area who are also running the X-8E. There is also another feature on the X-8N that asks you to enable the Tx when you turn it on, there is a light indicating that the Tx is sending a signal, probably worth making sure the same for the X-8E too.

As far as customer service goes, Graupner USA takes really good care of their customers. I'm sure they will get you sorted out by COB today.

Side note... I have several GR-4 Rx's in excellent condition that I'm selling for $20 ea

The radio came with the latest update, so no issues with updating. The US customer service rep called me last night and we tried a couple things and nothing. I think it is just a dead receiver...

My main problem is that we have a race coming up on the 14th and the rep wasn't too hopeful that I would get it back by then. However, I think one of your GR-4s might just do the trick. I will send you a PM in a sec.

Thanks
