Rx482 range issue.

Hi guys. Bit of a noob here.
have a yokomo bd8, was running a sanwa rx472 reciever with a sanwa mt4. I've replaced the reciever with a new rx482 and now the car runs out of range on my local Onroad track. Isn't a very big track and had no issues with my old reciever.
Any ideas on what's the problem? (Others at the same track have no issues with the same reciever)
Thanks

Maybe you should try a different mounting. The standup part of the receiver contains the antenna, if it is close against some metal/carbon or the transponder it can suffer from a weak signal

Thanks for the reply. I've remounted it. Will have to wait for daylight to test.

Let us know if you fixed it.

Was hard to tell as I always drive at a track and just tested it out sidey house (not sure the difference me standing on ground level compared to at the track) the car drove about 110m before it lost range. Seemed to be alot less distance at the track.

Do you use Life or lipo batteries?

Was it indoors? Steel building? I only have issues outdoors when blocked by a steel structure like a seacan. I have my transponder attached to the standup part of the antenna just beside the bind button

Just making sure but does your transmitter have full batteries?

Nicko451 07-28-2018 10:38 PM

It's outdoor. Others race there with the same reciever. Yeah full batteries. I'll be going there on Thursday to test again.

Went to the track today after re soldering my ESC and motor (tabs were loose and a messy solder job has them touching)

It was much better but still went out of range in one spot on the track, which was strange as it was not the part of the track which was the most distance away.

I run the same receiver on a large outdoor track with no problems.

You should post a picture of your install

It's not letting me upload from mobile for some reason.
Pretty standard layout. For a touring car.

I think you need 9 posts before the forum lets you post pictures. Didn't see your post count before I suggested a picture.
