Orca B32 calibration

It was new from a guy at my club who has an agreement with the New Zealand Orca distributor so supplies them commercially, but he doesn't have a shop. So brand new and sealed in the boxes from the factory.
So I would expect it to be fine, although sometimes things are faulty from the factory, and manufacturers do build in an error rate as well.
I have a mate who is an electrical engineer and general electroincs geek (he would be happy to be described like that) who soldered it up for me. He has a lot of experience and knows the theory too. I don't trust my soldering on expensive kit like this. So it was all soldered correctly (A to A, capacitor on the battery terminals etc) and by some one far more experienced than me.
Its disappointing not being able to get it going, but I've contacted the seller so he can hopefully check it over for me too. Unfortunately I can't take it to a shop as there are none around, and the next track day is the race meet, so I will take it there if I can't get it resolved beforehand as I will put the old gear back in to the car.

What are the chances this is a faulty sensor in the motor? I need to test both the motor with a working ESC and the ESC with a working motor but this to me seems the most likely.
I've also tried it with the fan in case that matters, and also the tx set to 50/50 and 70/30 throttle/brake but no luck

Well it looks like its the speedo.
The motor worked with another ESC but the ESC didn't work when installing it in anither car with a motor, rx and sensor cable that definitely are all fine as they work with a different ESC.
Of course there could be something I'm doing wrong with this particular speedo, the others I have are Speed Passion, Trackstar and Tamiya and I've never had this problem.

And this was resolved today. The ESC was definitely faulty, got a new one under warranty and it worked first time. We suspect it is the senosr plug on the ESC but who knows, that will go back to Orca but the retailer was awesome and got me a replacement rather than go down the warranty route.
