Default Weak Break on Hobbywing ESC

I have a Hobbywing Xerun XR10 PRO Stock Spec ESC in by b6.1. The breaks are really weak even though I've turned them up as high as possible on the ESC. Radio is Futaba.
Any ideas on how to correct this?

Thanks.

hook it up to a program box and see what percent the brake is at in the esc. I use that esc and have mine turned down to 75%. Also make sure epa on radio is 100%. Make sure your radio epa is at 100% and calibrate

recalibrate esc to radio set at 75% then adjust endpoints above that setting see if that might help. worked for me on a hw airplane esc i was running onroad.

EPA on radio is 100
brakes on ESC are all the way up.

Should I recalibrate after setting ESC ? Sorry, New to the game, but thanks for the help.

Not sure how that would increase brake strength, the ESC won't go over 100% just because of calibration tricks. All it will do is create a different braking profile where it will hit full brakes earlier in the trigger range.

I would try to recalibrate it. The brakes all the way up will be very strong on that esc. What radio are you using?

Here is the setup sheet from my on road car - also have this ESC in my B6, but can't find the setup sheet on this computer. Seems to me, I had to turn down the brake frequency setting and play with the brake control setting to get the feel I'm after. You may not need to go as low on brake frequency, 21.5 motors are pretty weak for brakes.

ive read that you need to upgrade the capacitors to the 4 capacitors pack

Just an FYI this would do nothing for the brakes.

MOTOR TURN Have nothing to do with brakes they do nothing total brake control is done by radio send signal to reverse it direction from esc . ESC IS IN Total control motor does as told so its not told to brake by radio.or esc.

Here is a thread where two people who actually know what they are talking about discuss the fact that yes, different turn motors will have different braking characteristics. If what you are saying were true, different turn motors would not produce different power, and the esc would be what we change for different levels of power.

If you don't know what you are talking about, please don't spread misinformation.

The joys of the Internet. Motors most definitely have an effect on drag brake!

i can literally lock the wheels with a 10.5 but a 17.5 with same esc etc barely slows down. lol

i wish there was some sort of brake for 17.5...like a brake caliper on the spur or something.

replace that capacitor with the 4 capacitor. .. that will solve it.

Lol upgrading the capacitor count won't increase the brakes.
gigaplex and Scott R like this.
