I have a Hosim 6x6 rc truck that I have come to love. It is toy grade but I believe it wouldn't be hard to upgrade.
After doing a large amount of research online I have come to the conclusion it does not have a esc. It has all 3 brushed 180 motors and the steering servo plugged into a pdb that has a antenna on it as well. There is no proportional steering or acceleration. It's either 100% or nothing. The remote does have a high-low speed option that just seems to reduce the voltage to the motors.
IF I was to replace the motors with brushless could I use a all in one pbd/esc for a drone in my truck? I know I would need to replace the remote with a rx/tx set if it would work.
I have picture of the current wiring/pbd set up in my gallery. If anyone knows of a 3 in one esc for brushed or brushless motors that would be great too.
Thanks for reading this

With brushed motors, there should be straightforward ways to accomplish what you are after.

Are the motors themselves the weak link from the factory, or is it the wiring or control electronics?

you can add any 100 amp brushed esc with a battery also add a servo if you are handy then youll have control of the esc from 0% too 100%. also reverse.. you will need to add a radio 2.4gh with tx and rx.if you look on YouTube you will find some 6x6 builds..might give you some pointers.

I would start with a basic computer radio with at least 4 channels and mixing. Worst case scenario then is three ESC's, all tied to the throttle. I believe that is doable through mixing. Something like the Spektrum DX5C should work. This way, you have options.
From there, you get to choose your own adventure.
Something like this for an ESC:

ebay is a great source for cheap motors like this

Thanks for the reply/info guys.
I'm pretty sure the motors are the weak link. It will slow down before completely crapping out while the others keep going. This weekend I can check out all the wiring and pbd but im almost 100% positive it's the motor. I do have reverse, it's the same 100 or nothing.
Does anyone know of a good reliable brushed 180 motor? I don't have the space for anything bigger. I like the idea of hooking 3 of them up parallel to a brushed esc. Then maybe change the gearing some?
