Last set of SMC I had, which was a couple of years ago. it was 2 or 3C, I used to safely charge some of the 5kmah batteries at 10amps all the time.
On the SMC's website, factory spec can charge upto 6c. So you should be fine 3 or 4c with those higher quality batteries.

There's a battery information sheet in the box with a new battery. One side describes the warranty, and the other provides safe handling and charging instructions for the battery. For my True Spec Premium shorty, the instructions say it can be charged at 2C. I can't find that same information on the site anywhere. The sheet looks generic so, I'd assume it applies to all the true spec batteries.

Weird. Danny at SMC was super helpful and responsive when I emailed him a month ago.

I did get an Email back from him. Guess I was listening to the wrong people about his email response time.
Thanks Danny!
Hi Jerry,
You can go as high as 6C if need be but one thing to note the higher you charger at the less mAh is being put into the pack due to the way Lipos get charged. Due to this I find 2 to 3C to give the best combination of time to charge and mAh put into the pack.

20 amps seems high for a 2s battery. I always went 1.5 c on mine so they would last.
