I just went to charge my fairly new Orion 3800mah battery and my charger (Orion) displayed "Battery needs servicing" and wouldn't charge. There's no mention of this error in the manual. Has anyone encountered this? How do I get it serviced or is my battery dead?

Do you have a way to test your battery voltage I.e. multimeter or a low voltage alarm? Try testing the voltage.

Sounds to me like the battery voltage is less than 3v per cell. Like stated above check the pack voltage with a low voltage checker or multimeter.
