Default Rickey's R/C Track

Has anybody been down to Rickey's R/C in Temecula CA to see or run on the track?
How is it? Can you run 10th scale electric or just micros?

And do they have any race program up yet?

Thanks

After their initial attempt to open as a carpet track only to moronically install the carpet upside-down, nobody I know of has been there.

I have been there to practice on the Asphalt track when it was first installed...Honestly it was the most traction I had ever experienced in my past 6 years of racing. The course is somewhat tight, especially if your accustomed to racing outdoor parkinglot tracks, but still roomy snough for some good racing. Also have been told that Hara made a visit ther and literally 'caked' the asphalt with soda or some sort of traction alternative, which i think was not neede at all. Some buddies of mine have practiced there recently with this traction alternative and say that it "ok"..But wish they could somehow remove this layer of goo. It literally sticks to your tires by the end of your run. I personally think it would b a cool place to race, if the owners actually put some effort into make a 'program' happen...I know a couple handfulls of people around my area who would make the trek if it happens...

Also hear there is a new carpet track for the micors, but i have not tried it, yet..

It was kinda hilarious with thr first carpet being upside-down...When i asked the reason, "because you get more traction" was the response. LOL

i wanted to do a race there...maybe if there was more interest..i am assuming they are trying to get settled then they can arrange a race for the customers...otherwise, my phone would be off the hook from them if they really wanted to have a race run...

Default Thanks gentlemen

Ok, thanks.

Sounds like it's not worth it to make the trek over there. Too bad.

Lake Perris could have been a contender if they had someone who could advertise and schedule the races.

Bobby @ eXtream R/C in Grand Terrace, CA would like to make an asphalt track in the dirt lot next to (behind) their parking lot. But is having trouble with the finances.
I think it would be a good place to have parking lot size track in the Inland Empire.
Anyone in the asphalt business that could help him out?

Yeah their warehouse is still there, but when i went to check it out(august 1st), it was closed to the public and the track was used as an eating ground.

Eating ground?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
For what?

I remember hearing about a track in Vegas(LasVegas R/C Raceway) that was closed to use the space for RV storage...

LOL when i walked in the workers had tables setup on the track and were eating lunch.

And yes, LVRC did close down after the 2001 Norrca Race i think.

Yeah, and then the owner of the land did park RV's on it and basically ruined it. A real shame too as it was a nice track.

The track at HotBodies is dust...I was there a few weeks ago and they said they were tearing out the asphalt because they needed the warehouse space.
