I'll be there

Gonna be working on a layout. Taking suggestions now. A few options:

Running Counter Clockswise
Straight infront of Driver's stand
Chicane on end of straight
Straight diagonal in the middle of the track...

Bring em on peeps!

Post Layouts if you wish!

Jon Kerr 10-12-2005 10:25 PM

No front straight. Chicane at the end of the back straight would work. Rounded carousel type corners maybe.

How about no straights at all?? Put a couple chicanes down where the straight would be.. It could be a rhythm section like at the recent Japan GrandPrix..

$0.02

BRENDAN LUGO 10-13-2005 08:46 AM

How about a figure 8 Charlie? I may come out of retirement for this. :D

r a shoe 10-13-2005 10:40 AM

I don't care what the layout is as long as you miss the bump at the handicap space. Straight on the driver stand side would be different though. Maybe two shorter straights at different points in the layout.

something like this? (stock, and 19T guys have to run the normal course and there's a "modified" course for modified guys. :D )

charlie_b 10-13-2005 11:51 AM

Now thats technical. :batman:

(charlie.. each box is 10feet by 10feet) so this layout uses the entire 130x60 parking lot :D

I don't think you should do a track that needs changing. What will we do for practice?

Mr. Shookie 10-13-2005 03:16 PM

Chris you have major issues..but the track looks well......different...LOL
I say go for it charlie...The mod guys will still love ya...
But if you want to make it more technical than add a 7min stock class....
I am down...3700-3800 last that long anyway....hehehehe now that would the shizzle...LOL
I look foward to the race...

Yes, and use the metal dots and plenty of duct tape for this section too. Cuz ya knows folks are gonna be "ridin' da road rails"...

Like the "switchback" layout you ran last weekend? Cool. Tight corners, but a fast track overall.

... and avoid the "blue zone" at all cost.

I won't mind a 7 minute race in stock, but you might want to make sure on raceday that everyone who's running the class has 3700/3800 packs. There's a chance there might be a few folks who are still running 3300's out there too.

are we in japan, first car dealer are making smaller cars now we have 7min race in RC c'mon (j/k)

mb racer 10-13-2005 05:53 PM

just to take care of the Battery issues ... just run a 6 min stock race .. Some racers havent got the bucks to buy 37's or 38's ... Still have to look out for the newer racers that want to run that class ..

Mr. Shookie 10-13-2005 06:11 PM

I didn't want to start a big ol contriversary....Just a thought to have a seperate class to see what kind of responce it would get...Heck I care less if my sportsman level has to compete with the big dogs....I just feel like 5 mins is too little to really get the most out of those nice new cells....

I am seeing 2100mah left in my 3800 mah packs....seems just a waste to let all the power go to waste...hehehehehehe.
-Shookie <><
Heck I am down for any longer heats....
I can run full speed for almost 9mins on those 3800's so I figured 7 mins was perfect...I bet even those 3300 guys could hang....
Just a thought...

I like Mike's layout #2 run counter clockwise. :D

r a shoe 10-14-2005 11:35 AM

Thanks Charlie!

No. 2 seems to be the best for all the classes.

Hebiki 10-14-2005 12:11 PM

#2 runs right into the dip in the handicap zone. :D but i like how mike threw in the driving lines :)

hey jon.. i always volunteer to do track maintenance anyways.. if charlie didnt mind... the mod guys can be put into a separate practice session where you guys are alone. UNLESS you want to run with the rookie stock and rookie nitro guys? :D

r a shoe 10-14-2005 01:09 PM

If you start creating seperate practice sessions for any class, you need to have timed practice sessions. Then the question is, how many timed practice sessions can you get in before racing starts. Figure that each practice is 20-30 mins.

charlie_b 10-14-2005 01:35 PM

i think for t 4 t i will try to get their by 5am to get the track prepped. Hopefully i will start setting up the track by 5:30am and get teh track ready by 6:15. With that in mind, ill have 15 min intervals between rookies,intermediate/sportsman,19/mod,nitro, and gearbox. Maybe this will work out better. I Guess we will see.

eeyan 10-14-2005 01:59 PM

I like layout #2 as well... ;)

bro Not to B bust you or anything But this aint the Nats or Reedy.Besides CB will be busy enough without worrying about a timed practice session.

I concur. I haven't done your T4T races before, but having "controlled" practice sessions? Didn't seem like you needed them for Mazda Cup or your SSS races. This race is suppose to be for fun and getting toys to needy kids, right? Run it like you would any other La Mirada race.

On raceday, poll the "stock" drivers and see if they are interested in running 7 minutes too. That would definitely be interesting to try.

I like Mike's #2 layout just like it is. :D
