Not to pile on, but after consulting the declining forecast, I am going to have to drop out also. I really hope the race goes off without a hitch, it's just too much of a risk for me with the time/travel/cost to get down there.

Trophy race or whatever in late August or early September... Labor day weekend would be perfect for a Saturday and Sunday race for all out of town guys since nearly everyone would have Monday off to rest or take care of the annoying list that our wives always come up with. Late August would be bad though with a lot of nitro guys heading to Toledo for the GLC

I don't really like Jamison agreeing with me either... But it is a great weekend to race and start a annual event without messing up another big race.

I am thinking hotels during labor day in VA Beach would be expensive and hard to get, not to forget about the massive traffic jams.

There are a ton of hotels in Chesapeake that are down the street from the track, there shouldn't be any problems getting a hotel there during labor day weekend. But if you wanted to stay at the ocean front then you would be paying premium prices and skimpy availability.

The second part is to raise entry by 10 dollars on first class ONLY, 50 entries would add up to the 500 needed for a great sprayer and vht... Electric guys get more grip and nitro guys would save a ton on tires. I personally think Debbie's has a fantastic facility and it's about time to run it accordingly so we get good turnouts...or save everyone time and money and shut it down. Get mad if you choose to be narrow minded but that's the very simple true of where we are. Run it correctly, do the right thing and Debbie's will thrive.
I speak for a lot of people when I say we have a overabundance of halfass facilities on the east coast and a severe shortage of places we are proud to tell everyone is our home track

Unfortunately, I have to agree that it makes sense to reschedule. Too many people have too much to lose with the amount of time and money invested to travel. I suggest club racing for Saturday and look for a different date to reschedule the SEVA race. We appreciate all the time and effort people have put into planning for this race to include the out-of-towners who have made the effort to come race with us. The track is truly awesome and we hope to have many more large races. It's my impression that everyone has already cancelled their travel plans anyway, so why not make it official?

Hate to jump on the "bandwagon", but Tim Harrington and I (Tim Schurr) are cancelling for this one as well. We were both really looking forward to the race weekend... maybe next time.

Track will be open at 10:00 following the clean up and spray. Shop hours are unchanged.
