Default 2013 MOTORAMA US INDOOR ELECTRIC OFF ROAD CHAMPIONSHIPS PRESENTED BY SCOTTY ERNST

Hello everyone, as fall is upon us it is time to start thinking and talking about the indoor racing season. Each year racers from all over the East Coast as well as the Nation gather in Harrisburg PA for the one if not the largest RC Race in the world, MOTORAMA!

******************** FEBRUARY 15-17 2013 *********************

Motorama host the US Electric Off Road Championships that houses 2 race tracks and runs both 1/10th and 1/8th cars and trucks. MOTORAMA "MR" is not only about RC Racing, it is about the 40,000 + spectators and racers that attend this amazing Motor Sports show. So many disciplines of racing are held at MR there is so much to see and do. From Motocross to Go Karts to awesome tuner cars and classic cars to enjoy there is something for everyone.

I am honored to be asked to be the organizer again for the RC portion of MR. This is my 3rd year being asked to be part of this amazing event and I am very excited for another great year. Last year we made some changes to the program and moved both tracks closer together and this was a great success. It made it easy for spectators to enjoy both tracks and see the different styles of racing we showcased. Also last year I brought my tag team partner into MR and had Charlie Suangka direct the races on the 1/10th track. Charlies is a great director and announcer and did a fabulous job running things and I am very happy to have him working with us again.

We will be making a few changes for this years event. 1st off, we will have a floor PA system for the 1/8th track. I know it was basically impossible to understand anything I was saying using the house PA, so they will be installing a separate system with speakers on the ground so it should be easy to hear what is going on.

We will be running all 1/10th scale cars and trucks on the 1/10th clay track this includes Stock and Modified 2wd Short Course. 4WD Short Course will still be run on the 1/8th track.

Here is the list of classes we will be running

1/10th Track

Novice/RTR Any RTR motor system allowed or 17.5 Race System . 2WD Cars & Trucks only.
Stock Buggy
Stock Stadium Truck
Stock Short Course
Stock Short Course Buggy
Modified Buggy
Modified Stadium Truck
Modified Short Course
4WD Modified Buggy

1/8th Track

4WD Short Course Intermediate
4WD Short Course Expert
Intermediate Truggy
Expert Truggy
Intermediate Buggy
Expert Buggy

We tried last year to let drivers race on both tracks and work out things when somebody was up on one track and hold up the racing on the other. Unfortunately this did not work out. So for this year, you can still run on both tracks if you like, but it will be on you to ensure you are ready for your heat, we will not hold up races to wait for racers. With running the 2wd SC on the 1/10th track, this should work better for everyone that wants to do this.

Below is all the race information:

Doors open at 8:00am on Friday, PRACTICE Starts at 9:00am and ends at 6:00pm Friday Please bring any items necessary for a functional pit area. Tables, chairs and extension cords will NOT be supplied. Electrical Drops will be supplied. Hey Scotty,

Are you limiting the number of entries this year? (HINT: You really should. )

Awesome....... been waiting for the official word. This is one race that everyone should try to make. Last year was a blast.

For any first timers, you definitely want to get there as early as possible and be prepared so that you have time to enjoy everything else going on at the event. It's so much more than just an RC race.

Other suggestion is pay the extra for the special reserved parking. Otherwise you will be walking a very very long way with all your gear.

+1. I pay for the reserved every year. I feel like VIP when I park reserved. Than on Sunday when its all over you dont have to walk far to get the car, load it and go home...

Cant wait. This will be my 6th Motorama!!
