[QUOT thaE=scooterman19;11165971]Not yet....but seriously lookin at the 22sct....4wd stuff to be competative is way outta my price range...thinkin about sellin stuff just to get a 2wd[/QUOTE]

One additional note, as far as being competitive at any level it's less about the car and more about the driver. On my tc6.1, i have invested $400 on the kit,$350 radio;$80 servo, $230 esc $35,$35 tires, $100 motor,$35 body,$100 misc. now thats well over $1000 and i can't even complete a race let alone be competitive. I can drive scooby's,tom's,barry's, DJ's or any other one of the top drivers cars and I would still come in dead last not because of the car but because i can't drive. Dang it hurt to say that. But any of those guys can take my car and win or be competitive because they've spent years cointless hours practicing their craft. I say all that to say i've seen guys with rtr kits beat guys with $2000 cars. Being competitive is about practice which i dont have time to do with work, hool, and just life. I hope this helps. Ps i was preaching to myself more than any oneplease don't be offended

2WD VS. 4WD

Kits: 22SCT $370 VS. SCTE $300
Motor: Team Orion 17.5 $108 VS. Tekin Pro4 $130
ESC: Tekin Rs $175 VS. Tekin RX8 $199
Radio: A wash
Final cost: 2WD 22SCT $653 VS. 4WD SCTE $629

I choose all top of the line (competitive) electronics, now you can always go a little less expensive with some nice HobbyKing electronics, but running 2wd is around the same price it really comes down to what you like to drive. For me it's 4wd more control and power equals more excitement. Ps. prices are from Amain.

the scte comes as a kit that apparently needs alot of extra parts to keep up...MIP kit is 180 bucks...and the esc/motor combo those guys are using is about 300 bucks....and guys like Scooby run in that class...so it seems like a more "pro class" then 2wd....I just want a truck that is made to race and a class with guys that don't put 1000-1500 dollars worth of hop ups in their vehicles...this is not a knock on Scooby or any of those guys just that they have been doing this forever and I am a noob...the truth is I probably won't be running anything in the winter...because of finances but if I do it will be in a 2wd class so I can learn vehicle control before I even bother trying to run with much more accomplished drivers and set up guys. thanks for your notes though. I pay attention to everything and take everything in so thanks again

Hop ups look nice not completely needed. Only 2 hop ups i would say are a "must" is the outterdrives and the rear chassis brace. Everything else can be done over time. Tlr tuning kit is $120 which saves you about $80 but if you can't splurge its cool. You can find Scte's rollers used on ebay for $200-$250. Scooter, scoot your butt over to ebay pick up a scte come hang out and with the grown folks (4wd) lol.
