Default 17.5 Rubber Tire Champs at New Jersey Motorsport Park Oct 2nd-3rd!!!

It's now time to open things up a bit at NJMP! Along with our normal SJCCR classes (Vintage, Nitro Vintage, RCGT, F-1, and M-Chassis) we would like to invite conventional TC racers to show off your skills to THOUSANDS of spectators at New Jersey Motorsport Park for the Rally America Rallycross event!

Saturday would be a free all day open practice, with Sunday being the actual race day!

The 17.5 class rules will be really simple.....Any 17.5 motor, any rubber tires....Lets just use up whatever outdoor stuff you got left....

This again will be just another opportunity to showcase R/C racing to the masses and open things up even more at NJMP for 2011.

Entry will only be $15 for the first and $10 for additionals and will INCLUDE YOUR ADMISSION TO NJMP FOR YOU AND A GUEST for BOTH days!!!! Children under 12 are FREE!

If you never been to NJMP and always wanted to, now is the perfect time to see some great 1:1 action and race some R/C at the same time! The R/C track will be located right in the middle of all the action!

You wanted some....nOW cOME gIT sOME....

Here is a video from the last Rally America race at NJMP in August....

What is the surface the track will be setup on? 1/2 dirt, 1/2 asphalt?

It was my intention to run a R/C rallycross but the logistics of the dirt/asphalt idea wouldn't work (too much 1:1 traffic) so it will be all asphalt....

Also, this is at the "Lightning" track at NJMP....We always used to race at the "Thunderbolt" track, so this will be a new location for us....

Even better, this will also be a call to rally and Short Course racers....Here is a the dirt section we want to eventually do some offroad action on.....

I know it will be waaaay over the top for me to try to do both, but if someone wants to step up and build a simple layout and do a rally/offroad demo, LETS DO IT!!!!

If this dirt section works out (which I'm sure it will) I'm sure we can get a decent clay track built there for 2011....

I also noticed there is a water faucet at the near corner of the building, so getting water to the dirt area shouldn't be too much of a problem.

They also have about a billion 1:1 tires lining the full scale tracks so maybe somebody can use some of them to make a simple course....

If anyone has any other quick offroad building ideas, just post.

Since it's more of a demo/exhibition, maybe letting Rally and SC Trucks run together in Baja style mixed heats might be a good look. Saves time, plus keeps the entertainment going in between the main attraction onroad racing...Then again, with a Rally racing fan base at this event, this would definitely be an effective move. It be real cool to invite pro, celebrity drivers like Tanner Foust, Travis Pastrana, and Dave Mirra to come over between rounds and take a few laps in the RC cars.
