Got in a little 1/12th scale track time at Jim's R C World Tuesday. Very nice place, great carpet and track and really good people. Jim and Chris have done a lot of work, CRC carpet pulled over a wood sub floor makes for a consistent track surface. They have RC Scoring Pro and were kind enough to fire it up for us while we practiced for lap time feedback. Nice on site hobby shop. I recommend you check them out. Dress warm

I’ll take a shot at their hours but you should call to confirm.

Monday Closed
Tuesday 12:00 to 8:00PM available for open practice
Racings on weekends.

I am also proud to announce that we will begin running 10 scale electric open buggies and trucks. So bring them out and give the high bite, high speed carpet a try. See you at the races!!

Default Racing and practice

Hey Racers, this is Jim. We run off road on Saturdays, doors open at 10am and racing starts at noon. Oval/On road on Sundays doors open at 9am and racing starts at 11:30. We are very accomodating to allowing most types of cars and trucks as long as there are enough entries to make a respectable class of it. Typically three or more. If you wish to race a certain type of vehicle, gather a few of your freinds and bring them out. We would love to have you come out and maybe expose us to something we may not have run as of yet.

As for practice, we have been running Oval on Tuesday, on road on Wednesday, and Off road on Thursday. Friday is now reserved for Hellicopter/airplane indoor flying and will switch off every other week with Drift car night. Friday 2/11/11 will be indoor flight. Friday 2/18/11 will be drift night and so on. That being said, with the recent announcement of another local track closing wednesday night for Oval racing. We will be switching our Oval practice to Wednesday and on road practice to Tuesday. If we begin to get a decent turnout for wednesday Oval , I am open to Racing on Wednesday evening. If you are interested in this, you can let me know by replying back. Better yet show up in number for practice. The shop number is 717-932-3509 if you have any questions.

Hey Black Night. As far as touring car we are open class. 1/12 we have been running 13.5. The VTA class which has been increasingly popular is 25.5t motor no boost. no gear limit. Aproved VTA Body please. True VTA Tire Pretty standard VTA rules. We aren't getting wrapped up in having a driver in the car, but we are trying to stick with the rest of the standards. We are looking forward to seeing you guys on the 20th, and hopefully a whole lot more. Tracks don't survive without the support of the racers. So thank you. See you then.

Default For Flying Fans

I am proud to announce that Jim's RC world located at 1069 Pines Rd. in Etters PA 17319 will be having indoor flying for smaller scale hellis and airplanes every other Friday. 2/11/11, 2/25/11, 3/11/11, 3/25/11 and so on. We invite anyone with a love for flying to come out and have some fun. We have a fairly large facility aproximately 13,000 sq. feet of free span flying area with a center ceiling height of 42 feet high sloping down to 25 feet high at the edge. That's about 130 foot long by 80 foot wide of open air space. That's a far cry from trying to play in your house. We will eventually be setting up obstacles and having fun tasks to perform as long as we get plenty of interest to do so. Come out and show your support. The cost will be 10 bucks for all day. That is noon to 8pm or later. I'm easy. There is plenty of pit space and oulets at each pit. For photos you can find us on Facebook under Jim's RC World or in these forums. The hobby shop number is 717-932-3509. Give us a call or just stop down. We are the large building around the back. See you Friday.

Thats a great idea. Lots of guys have small indoor flyers. I know they fly at the Hershey Arena normally on Tuesdays from 10 to 2 and average 20 to 40 plus every week.
