A history recap of T&L's Breakdown Alvin vs. Orlando "The Silent Assassin" and T&L racing in general.

T&L at the beginning were it all started.

http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i2...nd%20L/134.jpg 2

Choa and "The Specialist "Jeff Andre on the left.........And in this corner, "Breakdown" Alvin and Orlando "The Silent assassin" having a ball, putting it down against each other... These guys could finish 9th or 10th, nothing matters to them but annihilating each other on the track.

Even if they both break they will still brag about who broke last .:lol: The feud that ignited the birth of the Swing reports. Notice how everyone else is driving while Breakdown Alvin & Orlando "The Silent Assassin " are high five’n each other after a sequence of wicket exchanges.. Nothing matters but there own battles...
Gotta love that about them !!!

__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ ________

What was once a silent battle between Alvin and Orlando, jump started a trash talking revolution at T&L, favoring Orlando not so much on the track but
on the trash-talking scenario among his fellow racing partners.

The post below, Alvin-0 Orlando-9 was a little exaggerated, igniting the birth of the swing reports to keep track of there ongoing racing feud development...

Here's the post that fueled it.

After the above post Breakdown took a step back from rctech because of the unfair win/lost ratio score the guys kept.

The birth the swing race reports..

The first race report

THE RACING WARRIORS AND THE DRAMA CONTINUES

On SAT the 25 at Trains and Lanes these two track warriors went to war once again. Breakdown Alvin and Orlando laid it down. That day they left it all on the track.

But I must tell you the score is a lot closer then what the rumors tell you, 9-0. On Saturday these two warlords of the track held nothing back. On the first few heats Breakdown Alvin was putting it on Orlando and reminding him who was the man and why they called him BREAKDOWN ALVIN.

As the day progressed Orlando was trying his best to keep up but between focus and setup problems he just couldn't make his mark. In the mean time Breakdown Alvin just wouldn't let Orlando forget who was the man.

In the third heat finally Orlando got to a good start, but that didn't last long, as if that wasn't enough he almost had a mental breakdown when his car hit Kitchen the always Flamboyant MARSHALL OF MARSHALL'S AKA-THE RC POPO.
I tell ya, that incident was a tough one to call, specially since Orlando was surfing the rails with his Yokomo and hit kitchen on the back of his heals while Marshalling.

Orlando tap danced with fury and got off the drivers stand, went back to his pit area very upset pleading to the Yokomo racing gods " why Timmie why !!! " specially having the kind of day he wasn't expecting.

But i must say he went back to his Pit area and sat down with his back turned to Breakdown Alvin. Spoke to his RC Mental Counselor, Pit Partner and RC Mentor specialist Don Juan and together came up with a new game plan. Win at all cause !!!!

The birth of "The Silent Assassin"

Here comes the fireworks, the main between Breakdown Alvin and Orlando was the highlight of the day, As Breakdown Alvin with confidence walked up to the drivers stand waiting for Orlando to show up and the crowd anticipating these two warriors going to war. The wait was over finally Orlando comes out of the pit area with a mean look and war paint on his face. No one knew this was going to be the race of the day....

From the beginning of the main they went all out. They must of exchange leads about 20 times during the race. Orlando came out like the warrior he is, never giving up. The last 8 lead changes came in the last 40-sec of the race.

Orlando and "Breakdown" Alvin fought to the Last sec of the race. Nose to nose to the finish line in what appears to be the closest race of the Trains and Lanes on-road season to that point. Finally Orlando got what he wanted , The sweet victory !!! ahhhhhhhhh!!!!! How sweet it must of been after having such a rough start. A VICTORY HE SAID AFTER HIS INTERVIEW with Paposwing """HE WILL REPEAT NEXT SAT"".

The ever-lasting war between Breakdown Alvin and Orlando is one for the history books.

The saga will continue next Saturday from T&L....

In fact here’s Breakdown Alvin’s rctech silence breaking reaction toss the race report. ( screen name: RCPERSONIFIED )

I wasn't even going to rub it in because I thought he might be too upset. After the display of frustration and the car tossing. I thought it might put him over the edge. Glad to see him return to his RC fun-loving self. The saga will definitely continue. As for the GOAT, stop hitting stuff CHUMP!!!

The race reports created the buzz T&L needed, It put the T&L racing scene out there. It showed that this was a pleasant and fun place to race. It brought veterans out of retirement like Brian Reagal to test the waters of the 17.5 sportsman class.

And Steve Walters to take on some of our local competitors like: Juan Ruiz, new comer Kitchen who later became "Rocketman", Cornell Crecium and our home track Commander Jason Schreffler in the 13.5 class. Steve and Brian did pretty well.

Considering Brian’s 2 1/2 years away from on-road racing he did better then well. Brian won the 17.5 sportsman class and looked like he never missed a beat. Steve on the other hand had a few bumps and realized that the take over wasn't that simple. None the less he still did well enough to make his mark in the 13.5 class.
Here's a picture of the "Dynamic Duo" with the commander.

http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/k...s/P5170049.jpg 3
Jason Schreffler visits the pits of Brian Reigle and Steve Walters. And one of our newest racers,"The silent one" Kevin Horvath was pitting with them, hoping to learn a few speed secrets

Their performance ignited another race report titled "The Takeover" ( Posted on the trains and lanes summer 08 thread page 33). This one was about 2 guys coming to T&L to race against the locals, sounds familiar, you bet ya! "The Dynamic Duo" Steve Walters and Brian Reigle, and it didn't stop there.

Guys like Alex Valdez, Rui Goncalves, Elijah, Ron Goetter, Mike Hanulec, Elijah, Larry Fairtrace, Team B&B Ed Bernard and Randy and other heavy hitters came up and did there part competitively to enhance the racing scene at T&L. Furthermore, it brought new talent to the scene. Talents that jumped ship from off-road land. Guys like Choa, Carlos later known as "Carlitos Way" to name a few...

It also brought others like "The Cornman" Cornell, Terry "The Iceman" Thompson, " Iron Man" Joel, Junito, Brian John and the list goes on. Guys that made a difference enhancing the level of competition, Choa did very well coming out of off-road land and into the 17.5 on-road-racing scene. Winning a few weeks in a row in the novice level. Tim Steward took over and captured a number of victories in a row also.

Cornell jumped into the 17.5 from the 13.5 and was unbeatable until he was told to move back up. Then there was Carlitos the man that owned the 17.5 class for about 7 weeks, no-one was able to touch him.

Week after week he was demolishing his opponents. Guys were dropping down from the 13.5 to take him on, but Carlitos was still dominating everyone. Furthermore, the same guys that at one point dominated the 17.5 and moved up to the 13.5 went back down and tried with no success. Cornell, Tim Steward, Choa, even Rocketman, Juan Ruiz.

Carlos almost closed the season with an 8 week winning streak. Brian John had a few shots at him with no luck, and only in the last race of the season he was able to defeat Carlitos. Every weekend was intense, there was good racing drama.

The guys were bringing it, and i was writing it. Believe me when i tell you, it was fun writing it creatively. "The Commander" Jason Schreffler, "Side kick" Ron Goetter and Rocketman had there part in the mix of story telling drama.

With titles like "The no fly zone".. and my personal favorite "Kill the name Kill the media" featuring myself, Ron, The Commander Jason Schreffler, Rocketman, "Dr.Nip tuck" Terry Liable, Breakdown Alvin , Orlando "The Silent Assassin". An awesome indoor battle vintage style. Were The Goat and his many minions tried unsuccessfully defeating the swing-master ( Paposwing ).
One of the funniest reports Ive written. These were the good old days..

And all this started because of a friendly racing feud that ignited the first race report. Breakdown Alvin and Orlando The Silent Assassin". In a strange way we owe a sense or gratitude to these 2 relentless performers, who are asphyxiated with nothing more than to tare each other apart as long as they have the edge against each other during a race. As i said before, even when they both break during a race, they will brag about who broke last..... Those guys are awesome. I solute them with a challenge battle, winner takes an award at the Shootout...Breakdown Alvin vs. Orlando "The Silent Assassin" once again, this time winner takes the hardware.:nod::nod:

Here are some photos with references to them and a video. Good old memories.

http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/k...c/HPIM0520.jpg 4

On the far left T&L's former Samson. "Alvin" Who threw many battles lost his hair and later became our famous Breakdown Alvin, and the on-road rebirth at T&L.
This picture shows when they all started running nitro. While everyone ran nitro, I ran a Novak 5.5 all the way baby! And they got the message! It took 3 weeks of nitro plugs misfiring, motor stuttering, nitro fuel leaks, and me doing circles around them with my Novak 5.5 for them to realize electric was the thing to run...
Mission accomplished. We started small. .:nod::tire::tire: That was then, and look at us a season later. Fully loaded ..Check out this video...
By the way if you are coming to the RC Shootout the video shows you the layout you are about to run on this Saturday...

The racing gods thought about unleashing there wrath upon the 17.5 competitors at T&L. So they dropped Carlitos to do it for them.. That’s Carlos receiving a jolt of power from the racing gods. uuuuuuuuuu what a rush!!!!!!!

Carlos was getting faster and faster every week. Total domination in the 17.5until the last race of the season..

Choa got a glimpse of the ongoing on-road buzz and rolled over for a quick glance of the scene. He caught a glimpse of the swingflu and had an epiphany. The conversion was eminent, from hardcore off road basher to on-road smooth driving warrior...

This was also the birth of Choa's on-road newfound popularity. Fellow racers posted comments on rctech like: Choa is the man, Choa for president, the man the myth the legend, Choa is my idol...
Here's what his transformation looked like:

TO CONCLUDE:
As racers we have come a long way from: Juan "The Don" Ruiz, "The Cornman"Cornell, Carlitos, "Rocketman", Breakdown" Alvin, Orlando "The Silent Assassin" my self ( Paposwing )and newcommers like "Boss Motor sports" Nate Laskey and Brother Devin among others to becoming better competitors, gaining fans, friends and racing connections. From simple to the more complex layouts. From 6 racers to what currently seems to be a surge of competitors coming out to Paposwing's Rc Shootout this weekend, June 12-2010. No complaints, no regrets, just good old times and for that I say thank you. So long and see you at the shootout.:nod::nod::nod::nod: As always signing out yours truly Paposwing !!!!..:D:D:D

PAPOSWING 06-24-2010 08:35 PM

For entertainment before Round 2, ( The next trophy race )...Details are being worked on as we speak....

In Case you missed it!!!!

Paposwing's RC Shootout

WOW my first event and what a turn out...Awesome day of racing. I want to thank everyone for showing up there support. Specially those Ive never seen come up to the Train & Lanes. Guys like, AL Sodano who closed shop ( The Jackson Rc track) just so that he can show the support, I Can't put a price on that. I'm speechless!!!! The silent but deadly Barry Lofton, the multi-talented Greg Sharpe to name a few..

It was a very entertaining event..Thanks to" The Ambassador" Alex Valdez for styling and profiling the Mic, Elijah "The Magic-man" and Big Rob for the tech support. 3racing for the t-shirts, T&L for some of the support. And the that man got me out of a last minute jam. .

The man behind the crgraphics for hooking up the trophy race flyer, Chris "The Ripper" Rup. He hooked up the flyer in about 20 minutes. Awesome dude!!! Cornell Crecium / Nate laskey for donating the Boss motor, Orlando "The silent Assassin" for the gift certificates, Toni our local race announcer for putting it down in many areas.

Greg the hobby shop store manager for the support letting me have free range. All i got to say is Wow !!!! It turned out better then what expected. What was supposed to be just a small and local event, turned out to be an awesome time. Guys came out of the wood works for this one..Can't thank you enough...It all started in a cloudy mushy day that turned out to be a beautifully sunny and hot racing day in many ways.

Family and friends were present to witness and awesome event. The 1st Paposwing Rc Shootout.
On June 5 Mike Haynes, Mike Herald father and son, Kent Lee, Brian John came to town and threw down against some of our locals. Call it a preview what was to come at the shootout..This time time we got racers from all over. Jersey, Maryland, New York, PA. and so on.

This time they get the chance to put it down against our very own local Juggernaut "The Commander" Jason Schreffler, and the surrounding locals like Rocketman, Cornell Crecium, and the man who has been on a tare as of late, Juan "The Don" Ruiz and the rest of the locals....And to witness the continuing battle of Breakdown and The Silent Assassin, the VTA throw down and the birth of the F1 class here at T&L.

On Saturday guys arrived in packs of 2 and 3. Tents were up, pits were set, sugar was laid down and the course was set. The battle ground was set for the carnage that was to come. And strolling, styling a rugged facial look "The Commander" Jason Schreffler, the man that always puts himself in the commanding lead with speed, agility, precision.

A man that has an uncanny thirst for that #1 podium spot. A man that i call the leading racer/ Top GUN of the T&L home track, arrived to defend home track advantage against, "The Dynamic Duo" Steve Walters and Brian Reigle, Rui "The Beats" Goncalvez, Ron "The Goat" Goetter, Arvin "The Stealth" Nano, Barry Lofton, Al sodano, Mike herald Sr, Mark "Mr Cali" Dawson, Joe Write, Jerry Perez, and his biggest threat " Mr.Mike Haynes".

Thats just a few of the guys from the out of state locations that were here to contest that #1 podium spot and A main hardware prize..
The last time these guys met it was in the memorial day race at Jackson, Jason Schreffler and Mike Hayes threw down in the 13.5 class. Mike Hayes getting the best out of that one.

Today, Saturday June 12 / 2010 here at T&L they will do it again, but this time Jason Schreffler looking to defend his home track advantage. Fireworks in the mix, absolutely... and on the ongoing battle between these 2 T&L warriors since the beginning of times "Breakdown" Alvin and Orlando "The Silent Assassin" those 2 will go to battle once again for the bragging rights hardware (award)..

Man i got to tell you racing is like a hunger that never gets satified...the more you get, the more you want....Weather is a good day or a bad one, you keep coming for more and the fact the many would drive 3 hrs for a racing event proves it.....

The F1 class was stacked with solid talent:

The crowd is on there feet and Mic Specialist Alex Valdez is calling it as he sees. Shouting here comes Haynes. The home crowd in disbelieve. Jason was losing his lead.

On To the Mains

Formula One
A main

The competitors in this one were: Greg Scott, Jeff Andre, Kenny Stocklinski, Paposwing, Alex Valdez, Michael Fleck, Greg Sharp and Jim Defeo.
This was a full grig..
I got to say that Greg Sharp ran OPP all day and successfully too. 1st with Paposwing 109 and now Jim's f103/07... At the tone and of they went. i would say the first 12 laps Jim and Greg battled. Greg eventually pulling a lap over the entire field.. Greg takes this one.

Jim Defeo in 2nd, Kenny with an awesome performance threw the day took 3rd, paposwing in 4th ,Alex Valdez making time were he did not have, running the Mic all day and all took 5th place, Michael Fletch took 6th, Greg Scott in 7th and Jeff Andre (DNF)

The VTA Main, according to one of my most reliable sources...

And i quote:
"If i remember correctly:
Haynes won by a mile, a mile ,a mile, a mile,:tire::tire::tire: Goetter was falling back in second when he made a mistake, he hopped a dot and ended up crossing the line ahead of Haynes. Although that wasn't the true finishing order, Greg sharp was embroiled in a battle with 3rd thru 6th for the first half of the race but ended up 3rd all by himself, by himself, by himself, by himself ...:D:D:D:tire::tire: for the entire last half of the race.

Ron took Greg out for fun :nod::tire::tire:when he came up to lap him, Jerry Perez had a race long battle with Jim Defeo to take the 4th spot with Jim in 5th, and the rest is a blur" ........ Thanks for your imput my friend...

17.5 Rubber C Main

This main was extremely competitive. I remember telling the guys while on the drivers stand, "fellas squeeze the throttle and hole ass. Specially since we were all lined up single file, and in my experience someone always falls asleep at take off and then the pile ups begin..Well like always, some get the meaning and others just get hammered..
At the line up it was Carlos positioned at the line angled right into the 1st turn, not exactly the best spot for a quick get away, then Nate, Paposwing, Breakdown, Kenny Stocklisnki, Choa, Robert Sloan, Kenny Jr.,Joe Murphy.

Here we go...... At the tone and off we went. The first one out was Carlos and he clears the first turn, but into the sec turn he gets hammerd. I was able to avoid the traffic ....... colition......... and so did breakdown. We broke loose, Nate and the rest were trying to clear the path. and the battle between me a breakdown begun... Breakdown wasn't only trying to win, he was also trying to save face. He needed a win to assure that extra trophy award that Paposwing put up for grabs. For those that are not aware Breakdown Alvin and Orlando "The Silent Assassin" have been battling for years, and Paposwing put up a trophy for them to battle for.. So not only Breakdown had a chance at a C main trophy but also a bragging rights trophy if he did well enough..

Anyway back to the race.. after the quick pile up, i took the lead. Breakdown followed closely, Nate followed breakdown. and the rest of the pack was coming right behind us. 3 min 45 sec into the race i ( Paposwing ) was still leading followed very closely by Breakdown, and Nate was making up time with his ridiculously fast boss motor powered car. At this point Robert Sloan was holding on to the 4th place, Joe Murphy, Chao, Kenny Jr followed. Carlos and Kenny Sr were out in the side lines. 40 sec to go into the turn that leads to the sweeper i got caught on the rail. Bad mistake, breakdown took the lead, Nate followed then Paposwing, Robert Sloan and the rest. 25 sec to go, Breakdown in 2nd and closing in on Nate. Paposwing in 3rd and closing in on Breakdown. The pressure was on.
Paposwing Breakdown and Nate throwing it down..Paposwing closes in on Breakdown, off the turn, into the sweeper, Breakdown stuffs the rail now he get caught, Paposwing retakes the 2nd place. Now he's chasing Nate.

Here comes Paposwing with 10 sec to go, into the sweeper. Nate on the straight away. With time winding down. one more laps. Breakdown, Paposwing and Nate in a battle. 2 sec to go Nate clears the chicane and Paposwing chases, Breakdown closing on papo. Time expired Nate on the straight, Paposwing entering the straight, Nate crosses the line and takes the win followed by Paposwing in 2nd ,Breakdown in 3rd, Robert Sloan in 4th, then Joe, Choa, Kenny Jr. Wow, what a race! That was an intense race.. Well done fellas... Way to start the 17.5 mains..

Note: After the race i couldn't help but notice "The Silent Assassin" silently celebrating over a slurpy and what seemed to be the edge he needed for the potential Breakdown/ The Silent Assassin feud win for the trophy award that was on the line...

17.5 Rubber

B Main

This was another battle that went to the wire..
The competitors in this one were: Juan Ruiz, Alex Valdez, Tim Stuart, Orlando Ledesma, Brian Reigle, Jerry Perez, Kitchen, Joe Wright and Barry Lofton.
From the tone it was a battle. There were many exchanges, Kitchen, Joe Wright, Brian, Jerry, they were all bringing the fight for that coveted prize. But like the old saying saids, there can only be one.

Joe Wright take the win barely escaping Kitchens wrath. Joe win by a .4 sec lead. Joe took 1st with 27/6:04.43, kitchen 27/6;04.83 in 2nd. Brian Reigle 27/6:10 in 3rd. Jerry Perez with a strong showing during the entire day in 4th. Barry Lofton in 5th, and in 6 place Orlando "The Silent Assassin". Tim Stuart finished in 7th. Alex Valdez and Juan Ruiz were out early...

Note:
Is funny how things work out. Orlando probably thought he had the bragging right trophy in the bag. Specially after Breakdown Alvin's C main performance. Well not so, Breakdown finished 3rd with 25 laps on the C main, Orlando "The Silent Assassin" finished 6th with 26 laps on the B main. Now Mr. Alex Valdez will have to taly the rest of the details...

17.5 Rubber
A Main

Here we are one more time for the gold, for the top podium spot and bragging right. So far Haynes had TQ and 2 winning performances sealed . Will Haynes finish it up and sealed the deal or will Jason ensure that his place as the top dog at the T&L and throne remains untouched?
The competitors in this one were as followed: Al Sodano, Mark Dawson, Arvin Nano, Cornell Crecium, Steve Walters, Ron "The Goat" Goetter, Rui "The Beast" Goncalves, Mike Herald Sr.

Here we go, from the start it was Haynes who struck with the fastest lap, a 12.7 for Haynes and a 12.8 for Jason. Followed by Ron, Mike Herald, Rui, Arvin Nano, Mark Dawson, Cornell, Al and Steve Walters.
The chase continued. Lap 5 Mike Haynes was keeping it tight, and "The Commander" followed.

TOPS vs Losi. mike leads, Jason follows then Mike Herald Sr, Ron Goetter, Rui Goncalves, Mark Dawson, Steve Walters, Cornell, Arvin Nano and Al drooped out,
Lap 6 Haynes had a .6 sec lead over Jason, followed by Mike Herald, Ron "The Goat", Rui and the rest of the pack.. In lap 8 Haynes increases the lead to a 1.2 sec between him and Jason.

The home crowd looking on. Lap 15 and here comes Jason with a 12.9 and closes the gap to .9 sec. In the mean time Mike Herald still in 3rd. Rui passed Ron in the infield to take 4th from him, now Ron's in 5th chasing Rui for that forth position. a 1.5 sec separated Rui from Ron at the time. Mark Dawson in 6th, Cornell in 7th and Arvin in 8th..

Lap 18 into the sweeper they go, Haynes a little wide, Jason capitalizes and stays tight. Now is only a .3 sec lead for Haynes. The crowd is on there feet, the announcer is going wild, here comes Jason with a vicious sweet pass and takes the lead. The home crowd goes bananas.

What seemed to be a silenced crowd, now roared threw the scene as Jason recovers the lead. Now Haynes on the chase. Now a .5 gap between him and Jason. Lap 24 Jason pulls away, Mike tries to hang on. Lap 29, Jason stretches his lead and pulls a 2.9 sec lead and takes the win. Wow!!! what a race. Haynes and Jason put it all on the line... This was awesome.

Haynes was trying to claim leadership of the T&L throne but our commander had other plans. No, said Jason, this is my house!!! Jason defending his realm puts a Holt to Mike plans.

At the end of the day Mike Haynes took the 1st and 2nd heat. "The Commander" Jason Schreffler won the 3rd and final heat. I can easily declare this a standoff draw, a showdown at the shootout. But at the end of the day he who wins the main closes the show.

Congrats to our A main winner "The Commander" Mr. Jason Schreffler. Also congrats to Mr. Mike Haynes for putting up such a relentless show. Jason and Haynes putting up a driving clinic. Two sharp shooters at the shootout.
