Three travel races spread over the entire 2009 year is fine, and honestly if you can't make that, then your not really very dedicated to competition racing and the poll question would be irrelevant to you anyway.

there are a lot of reasons why having a throw out round is a good idea mark, it really should not go overlooked. I've been involved in 2 points series this summer, the RC Pro Series which is best 2 out of 3 & the North East Super Series which started as a 4 of 4 but later changed to a 3 of 4 due to racers inability to make all 4 rounds and still keep their families and lives intact! nothing involving their dedication to the hobby, just reality.
Also, if a "good" racer goes to round one and has a "bad" day, he is less likely to attend the next two rounds if there are no throw outs.
Changing the NESS series to a 3 out of 4 worked out pretty good with over 100 entries at each of the first 3 rounds.

+1 for the series... but I also echo Bless' comments above.
I would think that a 2 out of 3 series is more applicable for the "hard core weekend warrior". This may encourage those that have a rough first outing to stick with it knowing that they have a throw out.

Long Island Raceway is planning on becoming a ROAR track in 2009.
I'm in favor of a regional series, provided enough people would be interested in going to all 3. I like the idea of one drop (there are some things you just can't plan for) but I would like to see racers plan on going to all three from the start.
Also, would someone like to be Series Director for this? You would have to hash out the details of the races, and keep track of the points.

With what Bless said I have agree. The series he is talking about I believe was with Wolcott and the Barn. So either way you have to go to both track. With the 3 different tracks you can skip one. If hostory shows us anything LIR guys will make all 3 and will proably be a very local crew at LIR's. I know my guys have said this a lot we go everywhere why don't they come to our track. My answer is???????????????????????????????????????

I would prefer a 4 race series too, but this pretty much needs to be during the winter to be a success for an "electric" race, and there are not too many off-road tracks that are unaffected by region 1 winter weather.
I suggested for "no throw-out" so that the LIR couldn't be used as the throw-out race. I wanted mandatory attendance at LIR (addressing their concerns about racers not coming down to their track). But, if the LIR guys are not worried about it, then I'm not.
I still don't think a three race series needs a throw-out (4 race I'm fine with a throw-out). But I'll roll with it.

just curious, what's the last multi track race series you've been involved in?
