The track configuration....
Track dimensions are 140' x 70'. Lane width will be 15'. This initial set up is a scaled down version of what we raced two years ago at the VRE parking lot. Everything is always subject to change depending on any vehicles being parked in the area (we'll drive around). The course as currently planned should be pretty fast (long straight, sweeping turns). Also, parking lot is not perfectly flat. There is a slight pitch to it that will make driving and battery management more challenging. No racer's stand, so bring a step ladder for your personal use.
Property manager is having me jump through a few more hoops playing CYA. As of right now I've jumped through all their hoops, but I don't know what else they will pull out of their a** today. We will race.
See you Sunday.

Hey guys. How many people raced 1/18th scale yesterday? I think I saw one kid with one when I was there-looked like the best scale for the track.
Might get one if more people raced this scale.
Are there any racing rules? Saw a lot of crashes-pretty funny watching from the side lines. Looked like a lot of fun.

trans am
Jeff you should put together a trans am for sure... With those hpi tires all you have to do is put the guts in any chassis and drive it.
I think a great time was had by all and mod racing was awesome. Better watch out though Adrian....I got a few tricks up my sleeve for next week.
Tom Tosolini got stamped by the first timers and bq'd trans am. Pretty bad for such a heavily sponsored driver.

Tried to put a post yesterday and guess I hit the wrong button because I don't see anything today.
Tom, great pics!!
Anyway, had a great time hosting the racing. I'm sunburned and pretty whipped (I am 56) but feeling good about racing again. The concensus among drivers was to continue to use 6-cell packs with Trans Am rules. Given that, we will not call the class Vintage Trans Am because it may cause some confusion. The class for our racing purposes here is now called Retro Stock. We will use the elements of the Trans Am rules (many thanks to those out there who spent the time and effort in developing Trans Am) but allow the use of 6-cell battery packs with the 27T brushed or 17.5T brushless motors. No 21.5T brushless or lipo batteries.
Will make some changes to the rules to reflect our Retro Stock class.
Hope to see you all out here on Sunday.

haha yea m3 that pic only caught the tail end of your car and the other cars getting dusted. Guess top dollar cars do not mean a TQ or win. Had a great time and i'll be ready to stomp brian out next time. It was good to see so many newcomers asking questions about what new kit to buy and how to get started racing.

Hey guys. Is the 1/10th scale on road class the most popular class for this location? I'm trying to figure out what electric car to get so I can participate. And also how much car is allowed?

sedan
Yeah, I would definitely get a sedan, if you get tired of running it as a sedan you can also set it up for trans am.
