Okay, some of you guys already heard. Bill Mc has already announced it on Sgrid. It's sad to put this up:

This comes with great regret, but on August 24th Sun Valley Speedway
will be closing.

The current owners have lost the lease on the property. I have removed
all my equipment and will no longer be working at the track.

I know a few people that will be try to work things out with the
management company that own the property to keep the race tracks
going.


For all of you racers, this week they will be racing off-road one last
time. On road 2 more times. One club race this weekend and the RC Pro
1/5 race Aug 20th to the 24th

I will be there one last time to run on the oval Sunday Aug 17th.

Thanks to all of you racers and the company’s that have supported SV
and me over the past year.

Hi all, I would like to invite everyone to Camarillo this weekend. Sunday 8/17/08 we'll be racing off-road. All classes welcome!!! We generally have the following classes. 1/10 buggy and truck (19t and sometimes mod), 1/10 4 wheel drive (mod), 1/8 buggy and truggy, 1/10 gas truck. I'd really like to get a monster truck class going. Dig out your old bashers and bring them out. Practice is from whenever until 9:30. Drivers meeting at 10 followed by racing asap. We really accommodate all forms and skill level of racing. Come out and have a great Sunday. There will be an air show going on so we'll have some extra entertainment. We have public transponders and transponders for sale. See you at the track. James

It is behind the Camarillo Airport. The place is called Freedom Park. North on the 101 and exit at Las Posas. Turn left till Pleasant Valley and then turn right. Fredom Park St is the next small street after the first light. Turn right and you're there. (glad to help with info sad to hear another track is going away.)

sounds like fun! I like to support that track but even though SUN VALLEY is closing we will race this SAT- come out and enjoy the track one last time!!!
