In-car F1 action last weekend at the endangered Tamiya America track, courtesy of Rocket Rod Canare.
Camera is looking over Rod's shoulder in his TRF 101, at Edgar Fiallos' shiny new blue/orange TRF 103, and my aging all-silver F104 V2.
For best viewing, and to see how really hard the suspension is working in these cars, crank the viewing speed down to 0.5.

REALLY gonna miss runnin' with you guys!!

The camera is an inexpensive SQ11 mini DV camera available on Amazon. The microSD memory card is worth more than the camera itself.

Hi All!

Could someone confirm- the TRF103 is NOT legal for TCS Nats at this time?

Legal chassis platform: F104 Version I&II, ProII, F104GP (must use F104 front suspension), TRF101/102 & TRF101W

I emailed Fred about legality of the transverse pack in the trf103, (which he ok'd), so i assume the rest of the car is legal

Thanks Rob. I thought maybe the rules pdf might just be outdated regarding Trf103 but I wanted to make sure before taking the electronics out of my trf102...

Which of the Tamiya F1 body fit the TRF103 with the transverse pack? I tried the Ferrari F60, and it does not fit.

In the 103 manual it shows that you must trim away extra material on the sides/rear of the body.

I am way more concerned about the top lipo strap plate. When you run the lipo inline there are 2 small openings for the lipo plugs but the plugs will contact the carbon fiber. I wonder if Tamiya engineers realize that carbon fiber is conductive....

I am running the F104(2017) body with the links and transverse battery. The body is okay but I an not happy with the wing set. the front is too jelly like and the rear is too stiff (broken easily). trim the body accordingly to accommodate the links

The original 104 pro body fits well providing you dont use the side pod attachments. The f60 or 2017 104 body should fit with enough trimming but in wouldnt look right.
