Default World of Hobbies Cincy, OH Vegas warm up

Hello to everyone out there! I have news from Tom the owner of World of Hobbies (WOH) that there is going to be a Vegas warm up/ kick off to the fall on-road carpet season the weekend of Aug 25th and 26th. If you have not been to the WOH it is an awesome track that does not have a single bump or dip in the entire surface. They have ample room for pits and the owner plans to spend the better part of this month getting the track area ready for the fall/winter season.

The biggest news to come from WOH beside this race is that they are now going to allow PARAGON. Yes that’s right the best stuff in the world is coming back to WOH. With the bite being high, and a track so smooth how can you resist?

The schedule will be open practice on Friday, and Saturday with one heat late Saturday night. On Sunday doors will open at 8 am and the final two heats and the main set to start at 11 AM. The entry fee will be the normal $15 for both days.

If you have any questions post them on this forum and I will try to get back to you ASAP. You can also check out the web site at http://www.theworldofhobbies.com/. The track is located at:

The World of Hobbies and Games
11755 Mosteller Rd.
Sharonville, OH 45241
ph# 513.772.8600

Thanks again and I hope to see a lot of people make it not only to warm up for Vegas but just to get ready for the new on-road season!

Guys this is a really nice track. I do hope my schedule will change so I can run at this race.

But this carpet season is going to be a bunch of fun at WOH.

Right now it looks like this is going to shape up to be a great race. I have now confirmed guys coming into town from Iowa, NY, Tennessee, and the Cleveland area!

Start getting plans to make the first race of the year at WOH! High bite and good comp is all that is needed!

Did they raise the normal race fee from $12 to $15? Wow that is getting awfully expensive.

I know it seems that way. But when I started racing 19 years ago it was $8 at the outdoor offroad track that was in the middle of a field.

I would like to see a family rate. I have 2 boys that would race novice. $15 for them each is way to much to have them bang thier cars into the boards for 4 minutes.

Guess Im getting spoiled by the $5 Im paying now. Between foam tires every couple weeks, race entry fees, plus replacement parts it just gets a little overwhelming to pay that much each week on top of all the money just to get all the stuff in the first place. Sorry I realize this is coming off as whining.

Tim $5 bucks for a entry fee and as may classes as you want is great! That is why I have been running 2 classes when I can at Randy's track.

BTW I plan on staying the whole time this weekend. I should have a new Full Throttle KD in the afternoon when my delievery girl brings it to me

Not to mention getting "hobby bucks" back when you finish in the top 3. I dont mind paying $15 for racing if I can expect to get some prizes and stuff in return.

Yeah, I was thrilled when I would get ribbons or plaques even.

I do think that the winner of 5 or more gets the entry fee back at WOH. Not bad for JR, Eli, Chuck, Monti. But us slower guys keep spending the cash to race. Just have to spend some more to practice more to get better.
