Default Why "The Official"?

As the topic, why does every second thread has to start with "The Official.... bla bla bla"
I follow the Electric Off-Road section, and always looks for a few threads i'm interested in. But with all this "The Official" in the topic it's hard to find the threads. It would be much easier to see just Ass B4, Kyosho RB5, Durango 410R etc..
Is it "cool" to name it "The Official", or what's the reason

It's so we don't have 15 threads on one vehicle. If you see "the official" thread title, it means that's the one that won't get deleted when multiple threads pop up about one thing. I've been noticing people just starting their own threads anyway since they don't want to look through the big official threads.

I see what you mean. It's a common problem in most forum. But multiple threads should be deleted by a moderator.
I just thinks it's annoying to read "the official" over and over again. It's hard to find the thread you are looking for.

I agree it is a bit harder to distinguish between the threads when they all start the same way. The mods were having a hard time keeping up with all the multiple threads so they went this route. I still love it when someone starts a new thread and blatently says "I didn't want to read through the official thread for my question so I'll start a new one" those people should be given a 7 day vacation from rctech

Haha, i know what you mean. I'm a administrator in a RC forum, and it's a common problem.
This is a much bigger one, with bigger problems. I will live with it I just think sometimes it's just to many Official threads, they drown in each other. But keep up the good work

one problem is when the official thread has 18000 posts in it its rather hard to find things. then you use the search in the thread and it still leaves 1000-2000 posts you end up being like BLEEP this

You have a point but you can simply ask your question even though it may have been asked and answered before. Most of the time you'll get an answer. Saying "I searched and couldn't find what I was looking for" goes a long way. There's no way to tell if you actually searched or not but it does seem to make people a little more helpful. $.02

Exactly, as said before. Its better than starting a new thread saying that you were too lazy to search or even ask it again.

the thing is some people don't have time to read through ~1000 posts to find the info they need

Then you ask the question in "the official" thread.

Some might say, "then why not make the thread a sticky?". Stickies should be kept to a minimum IMO, otherwise we'll end up with the first page being all sticky threads.

i think there should be sub forums setup for the specific brands. that way general questions can be answered in the main electric offroad forum and questions about a certain truck can be answered in the sub forum about that brand.

If you were here before the "Official" threads you might not have such an issue with them. Things are much better now than they were before...IMO

Better for the info to be in one place as a hub of information, then wasting the time to click on and read through 1000 short, different freshly started discussions - its the same thing imo.

Not trying to pick an argument, just saying it as I see it.
