I'm sorry but this has been confounding me for a while, I just had to say something. WTF's the deal with the SlimBand.com ads I'm seeing all over the forums? Yeah yeah, I realize ads like that pay some of the costs of running a website, but...is this forum membership really the best target for that company? Are there a lot of overweight women RC racers on the forum or what?

Actually, I think the ads you see differ depending on where your computer has been on the 'net. Personally, I see ads about Oklahoma insurance, which I'm sure you WON'T see, probably related to the cookies our PC's pick up....

those are called "smart ads", and are based off your browsing history. In other words, your wife is checking out fat lady diet ads. I get wedding dresses

LOL That would make sense if I had an obese wife--or any wife, for that matter. And I'm a very fit 43-year-old who plays hockey 2 times a week. Nobody else uses the computer. So, the "fat lady diet ads" are coming totally out of the blue.

EDIT: I also clear my I.E. cache frequently on my work PC, the only other PC I use to access this site...so maybe this is a default ad setting or something.
